Bored Posted September 2, 2005 Author Report Posted September 2, 2005 Couple of notes: -Tonight's game ended up having no meaning except in the two games were posters who didn't make picks yet. -Spicy McHaggis hasn't logged onto the board in over a month so I'm not expecting him to show up. After this week I'll offer Arizona State to Crimson Platypus since he did want to sign up but I had to leave him out, unless Spicy shows up. Kotz hasn't signed on the board in a few days so I'll assume he'll show up again and might make picks this week. -I already have the replacement picks for this week for Spicy and Kotz if neither submits picks. For Spicy I'll use AlwaysPissedOff's picks and for Kotz I'll use therealworldschampion's picks. I chose those two based on them having similar ranking last season. Those replacement picks will only be for the games Saturday and on.
Vern Gagne Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Glad my matchup won't be decided with the tiebreakers.
Spicy McHaggis Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 My apologies. Friday Arizona Saturday Wisconsin Illinois East Carolina Air Force Georgia Notre Dame Texas A&M Auburn UTEP Sunday West Virginia Virginia Tech Monday Miami Tiebreak Question #1: How many total points will be scored in the Arizona/Utah game? 41
Bored Posted September 3, 2005 Author Report Posted September 3, 2005 One game already decided Florida (AgentBond34) def. Miami (Spaceman Spiff) by tiebreak They had the exact same picks, Agent was one point off the total score for tonight.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 You guys should do a documentary about me some time! Why should we do a documentary about you? Because I'm so fuckin' good!
Bored Posted September 3, 2005 Author Report Posted September 3, 2005 East Carolina beats Duke, one match up decided: Arizona State (Spicy McHaggis) def. Texas A&M (Secret Agent)
Secret Agent Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 East Carolina beats Duke, one match up decided: Arizona State (Spicy McHaggis) def. Texas A&M (Secret Agent) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bullshit! I already had a one game lead due to the guy not submitting picks and the second game he needs hasn't been played yet!

I thought we had different picks with Pitt and ND.
Guest Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 I'm fucked, I need Boise and FSU to win.
Bored Posted September 3, 2005 Author Report Posted September 3, 2005 Air Force beats Washington (woo hoo I'm 0-4 today!), one match up decided: #5 LSU (teke184) def. Washington State (bravesfan)
Bored Posted September 4, 2005 Author Report Posted September 4, 2005 Georgia burying Boise State, two match ups decided: Maryland (MarvinisaLunatic) def. Oklahoma (Damaramu) Alabama (AlwaysPissedOff) def. Northwestern (Kingofthe909)
MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 I cant believe some people actually picked Duke to win a football game.
teke184 Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 LSU in da hizzy fo shizzy! 5/6 so far, although it's looking bad for Pitt, Auburn, and Texas A&M.
Bored Posted September 4, 2005 Author Report Posted September 4, 2005 Woo hoo saved for the moment! I've had a shitty day but only one of three to pick Clemson. Only one match-up decided by the two primetime ABC games: Kent State (JHawk) def. Tennessee (Kotzenjunge*) * replacement picks by therealworldschampion Several match-ups won't be decided until tommorrow or Monday.
teke184 Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 While we're waiting, any chance of you telling us more about the retooled BCS poll?
therealworldschampion Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 UTEP is up 28-0 on New Mexico State, so that's good for me...
teke184 Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Yeah, that Hal Mumme offense REALLY appears to be working at NMS so far... I know that UTEP is a very good mid-major, but I'd think that NMS could get ONE score on the board if Mumme is such a genius.
Guest I miss Test. Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Bah, looks like I have to wait until Monday night for my game. And if I picked FSU, I would have won anyway. Lol.
Bored Posted September 4, 2005 Author Report Posted September 4, 2005 What's to tell? Already explained it in the sign up thread. The correct pick pct against (aka strength of schedule) will only count for 10% of your ranking this year while win/loss record and correct pick pct will be weighted evenly (45% each). Right now I'm thinking I might not post the Week 2 thread until Monday night after all. There is a really shitty Thursday game next week, Oklahoma State/Florida Atlantic, and I'd like to wait out to see if a decision on ASU/LSU will be made by Monday. If I do this I'd just skip the Thursday game next week.
teke184 Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 In that case, I'm a HAPPY Teke... My SOS and % correct screwed me last year considering that I'd only lost 2 games all season.

I know that UTEP is a very good mid-major, but I'd think that NMS could get ONE score on the board if Mumme is such a genius. Well of course Mumme looked like a genius at Kentucky when he could cheat to get talent...

Well of course Mumme looked like a genius at Kentucky when he could cheat to get talent... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not thinking about the Tim Couch years there... I'm thinking of the hype he got because he and former Vandy coach Woody Widenhofer resurrected Southeastern Louisiana University's football program last year and put up I-AA's top offensive numbers.
therealworldschampion Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Ah I thought you were talking about Mumme at Kentucky. I didn't know him and Widenhoefer coached together....
Bored Posted September 4, 2005 Author Report Posted September 4, 2005 God damn Auburn. Only two people picked Georgia Tech including my opponent. UTEP is crushing New Mexico State so safe to call that one. Here are the match ups decided: Ohio State (Gert T) def. #7 Stanford (Bored) Penn State (therealworldschampion) def. Nebraska (CarnivalizComing) Match-ups that can/will be decided tommorrow: Minnesota/Virgina UCLA/San Diego State Georgia Tech/Auburn Hawaii/USC Notre Dame/Troy Match-ups that can't be decided until Monday: Syracuse/South Carolina Oregon/FIU Rutgers/Illinois Buffalo/Connecticut

I didn't know him and Widenhoefer coached together.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The only reason I know is that I live in Baton Rouge, near SLU's Hammond campus, and my office includes a TON of Southeastern alums who were going crazy over football returning.
