LessonInMachismo 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2006 I can't wait to rewatch the Cadmus Arc again. That was some sweet storytelling. Indeed. I also hope this new set is anamorphic widescreen. I wish everything was anamorphic widescreen, but it doesn't bother me too much if things aren't. People are bitching about the original Star War trilogy not being released in that format, but I am thrilled to have it on DVD period.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2006 It just seems ridicules for them not to be. Not every 16:9 television has the capacity to blow the picture up awhile cutting off the top and bottom (whatever that process is called).
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2006 For 13 eps the last set better be cheap. The 18-ep Supes sets were 20 bucks most places. The 13-ep Teen Titans set original retailed for 20 but I've seen it marked down to 14-15 bucks at kmart and walmart, though.

Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 Wow, I totally missed seeing that. That is quite clever of Timm & Company to use that.

CBright7831 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 I hate to ask it (being the big Bruce Timm mark that I am), but is The Batman worth a look? I was looking at the preview for season four on wikipedia, and it sounds interesting. Season 4 will introduce Robin. New villains being introduced will be Black Mask, Harley Quinn, Killer Moth,Everywhere Man and Clayface/Matt Hagen. It has been revealed that Robin (Evan Sabara) will be Dick Grayson, Riddler's past will be explored, Penguin will have his own Injustice Gang and Batman will team-up with another JLA member.[1] Well? AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 I hate to ask it (being the big Bruce Timm mark that I am), but is The Batman worth a look? I was looking at the preview for season four on wikipedia, and it sounds pretty good. Not without Dracula. Well, to be honest I haven't watched it in a long time (they're up to season 4?! WTF), but the first season was terrible and one of the main scriptwriters churned out the pile o' crap script that was Brainiac Attacks.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 Seasons of "The Batman" are only 13 episodes and have been running almost back-to-back.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 I've watched all of season 2. Thorougly impressed, especially since most of them I never saw before. But Hereafter is really, really stupid. I mean, except for Batman the League are written like idiots, the first big surprise is really obvious, and so much of the plot developments are really goofy. But (that character that pops up later on) almost makes it awesome. I guess he somehow got ahold of movie Doc Ock's old research.
dubq 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 Though I don't have anything against the first half, I loved the second half of Hereafter. The "character that pops up" definitely makes it worth it and I'd half-imagined what a spin-off would be like between Supes and him in the future..

buffybeast 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 Box art for JLU "Season 1" Ugh, I hate Justice League Unlimited. Why did the producers change the show from centering on the original set of Heroes to incorporating a bunch of loser Heroes?

Also: Green Arrow is hardly a fucking loser hero.
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 I still say Unlimited needed a Spectre episode I agree, we also needed an episode that centered on Black Adam.
Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 I still say Unlimited needed a Spectre episode According to Bruce Timm they wanted to use the Spectre, but DC didn't let them. Others they wanted to use but were not allowed -Neil Gaiman's Sandman (Vertigo off limits) -Phantom Stranger (didn't specify) -Blue Beetle (TV rights problem)
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 You know I could understand the problems with Sandman, but TV rights for Beetle? Has he ever been on tv? I know he had an old radio program back in the day, but never TV that I know of. Phantom Stranger would have been awesome though.

Why did the producers change the show from centering on the original set of Heroes to incorporating a bunch of loser Heroes? JLU's Cadmus storyline was probably better than anything ever done in any other DCAU show.
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2006 I so forgot about the way "Wild Cards" ended. I like how they had Hawkgirl and GL kiss for the first time and the long fade out. Then out of the blue the old woman that was playing the slots the whole episode all of a sudden hits the jackpot. I was surprised that the censors didn't edit the ending of the episode with what that emplied.

Then out of the blue the old woman that was playing the slots the whole episode all of a sudden hits the jackpot. I was surprised that the censors didn't edit the ending of the episode with what that emplied. An implication way too vague for most young kids to pick up on. It looks like JL has that animated movie appeal in that there are implications that only the adults would get, while the kids enjoy the more direct humor that dominates the films. Hawkgirl: That's fast. The Flash: Yeah, fastest man alive. Hawkgirl: Which might explain why you can't get a date. The Flash: Hey, what's that supposed to mean?!
