Yeah, I know this is only the 1st game of the year and Baltimore isnt exactly known as an offensive juggernaut but this is a statement game. Dungy finally has most of the pieces he wants on that defense and its only gonna get better. Combine that with their already impressive offense and this is a 13 win team again. If they dont get to the Super Bowl this year it aint happening as long as Dungy's there.

It was a straight middle blitz with outside contain. If he tried to hand the ball to LT, the handoff would have never made it to him cause Brees would have been hit trying to make the exchange. It was a "make you pass" defense that shuts off the run and makes the quarterback be the one to beat you. Marty may suck as a coach, but the defense he was facing was a pass only defense. You run, you lose yards which forces you to use your last timeout or causes you to cough up the football. Plus getting LT killed would have gotten him the "WHY ARE YOU RUNNING MARTY!!!"

With one time out or not you do not run the ball in that situation you just dont. However Tomlinson should be on the field and going out into the pattern on all four of those plays. Now if he was on the field and in the route on those plays then SD did the best they could and fell short, however if Tomlinson wasnt used then they didnt call the best play available. Also saying Marty sucks as a coach is idiotic, he may suck in the playoffs. However, I'd take him over most coaches in the league his regular season record speaks for itself.
