I'm quite surprised that TNA hasn't been way more aggressive against the WWE. WCW made a huge splash because they became a thorn in WWF's side, and the WWF then had no choice but to publically acknowledge the competition. Until the WWE acknowledges TNA, I am convinced that TNA has little chance of ever coming up to WWE's level.

 

WCW's rise was meteoric, as they became so massive that their fan base rivaled WWF's fan base within about a year, give or take a few months.

 

Now, TNA getting to Spike TV Saturday nights at 11pm is a start, and I know that they don't have the luxury of being thrust into a prime-time, direct-competition timeslot like WCW did. It's sad that Spike TV sees more potential in the UFC and decide to give the Monday nights 9-11pm slot to UFC programming. I like the UFC, but I just can't get into it as much as I can get into a solid wrestling match, I don't care if one is real and the other is fake.

 

Next, Dixie Carter is at a disadvantage, because even though TNA is backed by billion-dollar ($5 billion, to be exact) Panda Energy, she can't funnel tons of money into TNA like Ted Turner did with WCW and Time Warner. This, however, can be an advantage in the long run. WCW was wreckless when it came to money and contracts, and began losing money as a result of huge contracts to useless, injury-prone talent that never really delivered.

 

I believe TNA will really take off once they start touring, which won't be until they can show SpikeTV that they can draw solid ratings, warranting a move to a prime-time TV slot, be it live, on Mondays, or otherwise.

 

I really do hope, however, that TNA begins taking more bold jabs at WWE.

 

First thing is first: secure the roster. Get written contracts to those you see as integral to the TNA product.

 

So now, when will the WWE make mention of TNA? It isn't a "war" until both competitors are facing eachother, and that will take time. However, unless TNA takes a chance in the near future and makes some bold moves (creating some huge positive publicity), their success will be delayed.

I don't agree. TNA needs to worry about themselves and making their product better. Taking all these jabs at the WWE is going to make them look second rate, like a little brother trying to get attention from the big brother by bothering him

A full out attack would be suicide at this point. They need at least a solid 6 months to a year of building a fanbase before they even start to think of stuff like that.

A year minimum, and they cannot afford *any* major missteps with booking or talent....
