Anyone know the full story about a ladder winning a Japenese promotion's 24/7 title? My friend doesn't seem to believe this is true.

Yes, a ladder won the DDT (promotion)'s 24/7 type gimmick belt after the ladder fell on the champion and pinned him.

Okay, so it was in DDT, which is a comedy-oriented indy in Japan. And MIKAMI, one of their top guys, frequently uses a ladder as a weapon and general prop. And they have the 24/7 title thing, which is pretty much what the hardcore title was a couple of years ago in WWF. And at one point the ladder presumably landed on the champion at the time and won the title. And I believe they immediately had a retirement ceremony for the ladder so it never actually lost the belt.

actually it was after it won the title the second time that the ladder was retired.
