HOSTEL

Recommended Posts

Just saw it at the TIFF. Fucking sick! (in a good way) Great film with an interesting concept.. and TONS of gore... and what we saw wasn't even the finished cut (it's being souped up with better f/x and sound right now, apparently)!

Either way, good shit. Gorefans should keep an eye out for this when it hits theatres/dvd stores..

I'll check it out. I loved "Cabin Fever", and this one sure looks promising. Plus, Takashi Miike has a cameo, and speaks.

This is from the same guy who wrote and directed Cabin Fever? Not a good sign. Not a good sign at all.

Yes, but that shouldn't be the judge. He even said at the screening that he's not making films like Hostel and Cabin Fever to win an Oscar or for some great meaning or deeper thought.. pretty much a direct quote it's to "make people sick and for the fuckin' gore."

Miike's cameo, lovecraft, is awesome. A lot of people in the theatre knew who he was as quite a lot were cheering when he came on-screen.

Saw a preview of this in a magazine and i'm definately going to see it. Not sure when it comes out in the UK but it's meant to be sooner rather than later this winter hopefully. I know the basic plot but i'll be avoiding spoilers here or anywhere else until I finally see it.

How can you not love Cabin Fever. I saw it in theatres with some friends, half loved it, the other half walked out.

Cabin Fever wasn't sick enough. This guy is a mark for himself. Note he hasn't updated his own website which has a fanboard and an "Eli Roth Questions Thread". He dropped that a Cabin Fever 2 was coming in 2005 (lie) and that Rider Strong would be on it. Now he's totally abandoned the possible franchise. Fuck him.

I'll definitely check this out ... from what I've heard, Roth is going to lean more towards the Japanese-style 'shock' genre ... it'd be interesting to see what an American that's influenced by that style will bring to the table.

What are you, his anti-publicist? You do realize that some projects get dropped or put on hold, right? He has three other films in pre-production right now.

Count me in the "loved Cabin Fever" group, that movie gets hated on way too much in my eyes. I can't wait for Hostel, it looks great. I saw a preview for it in a magazine also, but I don't remember which one. The pictures really made me want to see it that much more.

Maybe we'll get lucky and the DVD for Hostel will be just as great as the Cabin Fever one also. :)

I can't wait. Cabin Fever is one of my favorite movies and this sounds even better. Also didn't Roth recently say that Fever 2 was still going to happen down the road.
