Papacita Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Ok, there's some kinda spyware installed on my machine that's causing all these pop-ups to randomly appear. The weird thing about it as that the pop-ups don't seem to be associated with IE at all--they're all Macromedia Flash items. I've used spybot, HiJack this, searched on google, and searched all over my computer to find the source of these pop-ups and so far I've found nothing. The one thing I do know is that the source is searc-h.com. So can anybody help me get rid of this spyware, or do I hafta choke a bitch?
Dimensions Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 My college's answer to everything: RE-IMAGE!!!! You've done everything i would've done, the only thing I can say is look at your start up items and see what's happening there and see what processes are running that aren't normal and then look at that bad boy.
Ripper Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Go to microsoft.com and use their spyware. It caught stuff that all the other spyware missed completely.
Papacita Posted September 28, 2005 Author Report Posted September 28, 2005 All the processes appear normal, and the microsoft thing hasn't worked so far.
