Veronica Mars Season Two

Recommended Posts

see, the latest episode should have been done months ago. This season's mystery seems kinda bleargh because it didnt have the personal connection. plus introducing a ton of possible motives and directions woulda been better served earlier int he season, plus getting to know the victims other than Meg.

I am watching last weeks episode right now (There was a Nets game on Tuesday night and they didn't repeat it on Wednesday like they should have) so I recorded it at 7 from today, since they repeated it.

Anyway, is anyone else a bit confused what is going on this season? I defiently need to watch the DVD set all the way through to understand everything.

And I don't think they are wrapping things up quick enough.

Okay, nevermind, they wrapped things up perfectly.

And I must say that was one of the best season finales I've ever seen. Much better than last years and the twist was amazing. No one expected that coming.

If the CW doesn't pick up this show, there is something terribly wrong with them. The mythology of this show is deeper than LOST and the two big mysteries of each season were done perfectly.

Good times.

They tied in season one and two flawlessly tonight - this must have been the plan of action from the beginning of the series, or at least it was done so slickly and smartly in its execution, its irrelevant anyway as it was just plain damn good TV. It was just one HOLY SHIT after another for that last half of the finale tonight. And I really thought they killed off you know who, but not - MAJOR swerve.

Speculation what that cliffhanger was all about? Has to do with

Aaron's

death would be my guess...major payoff to find his killer?

Definate thumbs way up for this entire season, and definately in agreement in one of the best season finales I've ever seen from any show before. I honestly did not see the killer as him, came out of total left field but it all made complete sense, tied up EVERYTHING damn near.

Good episode overall. This season really picked up steam during the end.

A couple things though:

"Remember Sally?" I guess now we'll never know what that was about.

Not seeing Dick's reaction to his brother's death is just bullshit

I didn't quite hear what Keith said at the end about the plane. Is Lamb dead? Because I love Lamb (one letter off from I love Lamp.)

So I guess we're left with Veronica, Keith, Wallace, Kendall, and hopefully Mac? Maybe Weevil? I hope Michael Cera's on the show next season.

I read in an interview that they want Lamb to be a series regular next year (along with Mac), so he couldn't have been on the plane.

Who said Remember Sally? I missed that.

Beaver sets Dick up with the tranny, and Dick's about to beat his ass.

Beav, completely unintimidated, says "remember Sally?"

Dick looks scared and backs off.

Since this pretty much the first hint I can think of that Beaver's evil, it would be nice to have it explained.

Who was Sally again?

Last night's show was excellent. It made up for all the slow shows earlier this season.

Solid stuff. I agree with everyone that that season would play way way better watching it all at once without huge breaks.

I did have a few problems that maybe someone who followed the show closer would be able to answer:

-What was the deal with Lamb and Meg's parents?

-Duncan's hair on the statue?

-I thought that the whole Fitzpatricks stuff which made up a pretty major part of the season had a relatively small role in the resolution of the main plot.

-Are we to assume that Beaver framed Terrance, cause that was never mentioned in the big rooftop exposition.

-So Veronica finds out that Beav was the other kid who got molested, and immediately jumps to the conclusion that he's the killer?

Anyways, awesome show, it's been solidly great since the first episode and hopefully it ends up in the CW line up next year (eeems likely). Which leads us to a great bit from the season finale:

Duncan: "CW?"

Clarence: "It's a done deal."

-Lamb seems to have been an abused child. He gives that speech to Mr. Manning, and he seems genuinely upset when he learns that he let Goodman go.

-Kendal put Duncan's hair on the statue. That's why she was rummaging in the shower.

-The Fitapatricks basically were a big part of the Felix murder mystery, which was really predictable and lackluster.

-I don't think Beav frameed Terrance, but I'm a little unclear about the C4. It was Woody's hangar, but why did he have C4 lying around? If it was to blow up Shark Stadeum, shouldn't that immediately have been apparent? Seems like a plot hole. Unless the mechanic worked there (forget his name)

-Yeah, that seemed a bit hasty, but Veronica jumps to conclusions. Just look at her certainty that Logan was the Killer last season. It just so happens she was right, I guess. He has motive, means and opportunity, but it's not clear-cut.

But they knew it was someone on the little league team and when she saw Beaver on there, she figured it out it was him.

Come on, it is VM here. She knows her shit.

Wow, good pickup. I just watched that part again on TiVo and that is defiently Rob Thomas' idea. (Just like the LOST numbers on fortune cookie.)

So was there any mention of that Lamb stuff, or is it all implied? And yeah, I picked up on the Duncan's hair/Kendall stuff right after I posted that. Still I don't remember that being explicitly layed out. I have this feeling that I missed an episode or part of an episode in there somewhere. I did watch the last 4 episodes of the season in the last 3 days, so it's been ages since I saw any other parts of this season. Once again, I do think this season will play out really well watching it on DVD. Nevertheless, still a great season.

As for the realization about Beaver, I think the Chlamydia was supposed to be the catylist there. She found out that Goodman had it, then found out that he molested Beaver, then realized that Beaver must have lied about not raping her and given it to her, and thus Beaver killed everyone. I just think there's some big leaps in there.

Still, Beaver as the villian really really worked, and his motivations were all fine. He pretty much instantly ascended to Bond villian level and they still made it believable. So that's all fine, but Veronica coming to those conclusions didn't feel right. Unless I'm missing something.

Oh yeah and about the rape, that's some fucked up shit right there. I mean, they started out the first season with the main character getting raped, but then let her have a happy ending and find out it didn't really go down. Only to go "no no no, as it turns out, she actually DID get raped!" That's dark stuff dude.

No, that is just the way her character works. She can figure stuff out no problem.

Just like how we don't ask questions about Jack Bauer because he is Jack.

The first season was completely bare-bones, right?

Man, the second season picked up once Duncan left. He wouldn't be out of place on many other high-school shows, but he was completely out of his league compared to the other young actors Bell, Dohring, Capra and Daggs (who improved greatly over the course of the first season)

And whoever played Dick didn't have the most challenging role, but he was brilliant at it.

And that's not even mentioning Keith and Lamb, who are all kinds of awesome.

Shit, Iceman and Officer Leo were way better than Duncan.

It wasn't seizures, I think it was more that he went crazy.

EDIT: Well maybe it was, but I don't remember what the medicine for him was. My friend has my DVD set, so I can't go back and find out.

Oh yeah and it led to that amazing moment where he starts singing 'Tell me More' from Greese on the bleachers and then sees Veronica with a guy and goes Jeff Hardy over the railing off the side.

Well, when Teddy Dunn was acting like a emotionless psycho, I could understand.

Once he tried to act like a normal person, everyone on the fucking cast just killed him in acting ability. It was embarassing. This kid was supposed to be smart? Ramantic? It was porn-level acting. Though he did go out with a bang.

So what do you think next season's mystery will be? It'll be hard to top the first two seasons, but I am sure Thomas has something.

I think it may build off of "The Rapes of Graff"

An episode about a serial rapist shouldn't be that funny.

Veronica: Where would I find Hawaiin kids?

George Michael: ....Hawaii? Wait.. I don't...

Also, Weevil's going to be back, so I'm sure his murder charges will be an issue.

One thing I have to mention about this show is how it totally eludes the censors. Two references to the 'shocker.' Brothers named 'Dick' and 'Beaver'. "Just because you wiggle your finger doesn't mean Dick's gonna come."

If picked up, Mars might see action at the FBI Academy.

Veronica Mars might be looking at a quick graduation from Hearst College.

The fate of the CW's cult favorite remains uncertain, but if the show returns for a fourth season in the fall, it might find the young sleuth in a different setting.

Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas has come up with an idea to fast-forward a couple of years and have Mars studying at the FBI Academy. (As a freshman at Hearst College, Kristen Bell's title character has been taking criminology classes looking to do an internship at the FBI.)

Thomas is filming a trailer for an alternative fourth season, which will be submitted to the CW. The network's executives ultimately will decide whether to pick up the series for another season and, if they do, whether to stick to the drama's current plot line or go with the new version. If Mars goes to the FBI Academy next season, it will be a third backdrop for the character, who began her PI adventures while in high school.

I liked this season just like the others. Hope it keeps going.

Kind of weird how they took a long break mid season and are already done with the current season. The others seemed to go longer.

So I watched "Donut Run" again. It's a fantastic episode, but I can't figure out for the life of me how they actually got the fuckin baby across the border.

Any ideas?
