Edwin MacPhisto Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 And that's why you don't pass the freaking ball with 30 seconds left. Were they going to have to punt or something?
Damaramu Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 And that's why you don't pass the freaking ball with 30 seconds left. Were they going to have to punt or something? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No it was 1st down inside the 5 and they had no timeouts left.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 That's crazy, then. I know Calvin Johnson's great, but it's not like PJ Daniels is a chump. And they had the lead! Chan Gailey is a dumb man.
Damaramu Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Apparently Matt Leinart is still upset about the cheap shot he took in the ASU game. Don't cheap shots happen every weekend in college football? He should get over it.

Edwin MacPhisto Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Now I get it. All the ticker stuff I was reading made it look like that was an INT returned for a score to win the game.
Damaramu Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Reggie Ball threw the ball 53 times in this game. I hate it when QB's throw that much. It tires them out and results in costly mistakes. I believe when they were setting up for that last drive they mentioned that GT was running it's 90th play. Good god.
therealworldschampion Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 I'd just like to say how much bullshit it is that the Philadelphia market has to watch Minnesota get blown out by Michigan rather than OU-Texas...
therealworldschampion Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 I actually want to see Tennessee win tomorrow because their game against Alabama will be even bigger then, already adding to the Holy War-like atmosphere that game will have in Tuscaloosa in 2 weeks.
therealworldschampion Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Texas has been playing tight ever since their first TD, 3 fumbles and the 3rd one got recovered by Oklahoma. 7-6 Texas. And just as I make this post Texas scores on a long TD run, 14-6.
Damaramu Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Is the ball greased when Young handles it?
therealworldschampion Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 I thought you were going somewhere to watch this game.
Damaramu Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 No I stayed home and I have friends here. God damn that was a bad call. So the phantom pass interference turns into 3.
Slayer Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Watching this game just makes me remember how much I hate everything about UT sports, from the ugly burnt-orange-almost-brown color to the stupid uniforms sported by the cheerleaders and band
Damaramu Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 When Vince freaking Young is dialing up the passing yards and TDs on you then you know your secondary is in trouble. And on top of that.....Bomar still can't pass against a halfway competent defense.
Slayer Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Goddamn is Mark Mangino fat... He makes Ralph Freidgen look small
Guest Vitamin X Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 I have my choice between: Wake Forest @ FSU Virginia @ Bwoston Collahge Mississippi State @ Florida at the moment, with Georgia @ Tennessee starting in 15 minutes.
Black Lushus Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 i'll be catching the Huskers getting BUTT raped here shortly...
therealworldschampion Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 It's going to be extremely interesting if Texas and Virginia Tech both finish undefeated, especially if Virginia Tech beats an undefeated Florida State in the ACC Championship game.. On one hand you have Texas. Big wins would be against Texas Tech, who should be top 20, A&M in College Station who should be ranked, and winning in Columbus against Ohio State, a win that will count even more if OSU finishes 10-1. On the other hand there's Virgina Tech, top wins would be over Miami, Georgia Tech, Boston College and Virginia, all who will probably be ranked. Count in the ACC Championship if they beat an undefeated FSU, who would probably be #4 in the polls. Texas has the #2 ranking and the win in Columbus against OSU, but VT played the tougher conference and may have a better win depending on what FSU's record is if they meet in the ACC Championship. Tough choice...
Damaramu Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 So is Rhett Bomar just not a good passer or is it because he's young and facing a good defense? I'm going with a little from column A and a little from column B.
UZI Suicide Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 How did a guy like Rhett Bomar, who obviously hasn't mastered the forward pass yet, get the QB job at frigging Oklahoma? Are they THAT desperate?

So, it would to come down to whether Texas looks impressive enough to have a solid edge over VT in the human polls, and I don't think that would happen.
Slayer Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Brown could always lobby the other coaches (again)
Damaramu Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 He didn't lobby though. He just said one thing after a game. Something I think any coach in that position would do. Is it at all wrong that I am wishing injury on Rhett Bomar? I mean yeah he's the QB for my team but I don't want to watch him stumble and bumble and under-throw wobbly passes the rest of the season. I also would like the secondary to figure out how to cover someone! God damn it's frustrating to watch. And hey no AD.....I guess Stoops lied about the ankle feeling fine going into this game. So is Texas proud they broke the 5 year losing streak or disappointed it was against the shittiest OU team in 6 years?
Damaramu Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Yeah I'd be angry if I didn't already guess that OU was going to get stomped. I tried to tell these kids in my class that and they were just like "No way! Peterson is going to run wild!" "Guys he's injured." "So! Texas sucks! And Reggie Smith is going to pick Vince Young off and take it all the way back!" "What the hell are you talking about? The kid has one interception against KSU and you guys think he's going to go wild?" "Man where's your school pride!?" "Where's your brain!?" Well I'm for one am sorry for acting like that in regards to OU over the past few years. I didn't realize how irritating it was. I'm sorry.
Agent_Bond34 Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Goddamn is Mark Mangino fat... He makes Ralph Freidgen look small <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He makes Fulmer look small too. Just as I type this, Minnesota gashes Michigan for a huge gain on the ground on 3rd and 10.
Vern Gagne Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Reason number 12345 Lloyd Carr should be fired.
Damaramu Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Well Texas snaps the 5 game winning streak by winning 45-12. I don't want to downplay the win but it's not like they beat the Josh Heupel/Nate Hybl/Jason White Sooners that tore ass through the Big XII and beat the hell out of Texas for 5 years. They beat up on a weakened OU team with a shitty QB. But still a good win against a bitter rival. Now I hope Bomar figures out how to play football soon.
2GOLD Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Reason number 12345 Lloyd Carr should be fired. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And reason number 13406503 that people should have been slapped thinking Chad Henne was going to lead Michigan anywhere. The guy just really isn't that good.
