Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Our Prom song from 1998 was Bob Seger's "We got Tonight". The guys banded together to stop the women from out class chosing that damn Celine Dion song from Titanic. We decided a Bob Seger song would piss them off since they dispise him in North Dakota for some reason. Personally I wanted Bob Seger's Night Moves but we decide to go with We got Tonight. spman 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 I didn't go to either me Junior OR Senior proms (A decision I still don't regret), but the word I got from a few friends that went was that they played nothing but rap music all night, with like one slow dance at the end. Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 Sure, proms can have themes, like the Enchantment Under the Sea dance. I'd have rather drank bleach than go to any sort of dance at the time, though. The me of today, I'd probably go, but only to make a spectacle of myself. I remember the goth kids staged their own antiprom. I think it was some sort of rave. I didn't go to that either. But their song was probably better than the regular prom. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me too, I never went to a dance or prom, mostly cuz I despised the kids who frequented them (the popular ones yknow) and I was pretty much an outcast or at least felt like one (though when I graduated I relazied I knew a hell of a lot of people even if I wasnt "friends" with all of them, when a lot of people cheered for me as I walked onstage). I hung out usually at the "goth" tabels though I wasnt goth at all, but my good friend was kinda one and hung there. I instead went to Grad Night At Disneyland which was much cooler than the prom anyhow. Haunted Mansion owns senior proms A funny thing was that my Junior Prom was held at The Ventura Theatre (an old place that has a lot of concerts there even now), which the month prior to housed an indy wrestling show, and a year later an XPW show featuring Abdullah The Butcher bleeding and using a fork and staple gun. I thought hey If I went to the prom then I would always associate it with ECW ripoff feds Anyhow I was just looking at my graduation program and saw that apparantly our class song was Take a Picture By Filter. I was wondering A. When did we get a class song , B.Who chose the class song? and C. Why did they pick that?
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 yeah proms would be pretty lame, except for the fact that I got laid after every one I've gone to...when you're that age, you can endure a prom for some sure pussy later in the evening...
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 I remember the graduation song. It was "Good Riddance," and half of the class sat there and raised a fuss over it because of how overplayed that fucking song is. Of course, my 8th grade "graduation" song was "Graduation" by Vitamin C, and it was just me and a couple other people raising a fuss over how shitty it was. I really wish I made a video for graduation, because I would've set it to something by Black Label Society or some other "hey, they're soft enough for YOU to like them, but heavy enough for ME to like them" band that the dumbass wannabe elitist I was in high school would choose. Though I'll laugh if anybody ever chooses Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" to be their prom and/or graduation song. I'd laugh THOROUGHLY. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Iw as shocked that wasnt our song for my high school graduation since it was out and popular at the time (June 2000) I remember my 8th grade graduation too. They allowed these 2 girls to sing some songs, one being "Colors of the wind" form that disney movie Pocahontas?(I think) and the other "Reach" By Gloria Estefan anyhow the songs and the job they did singing was so horrible my friends and I were ROTFL. You think thats bad, lets go back to my 6th grade "graduation" where we we forced to learn and sing both the national anthem, and some song by Madonna called "I remember" or some crap like that. Not that I actaully sang it, of course I faked it. And in 5th grade we had to take the DARE anti-drug program and they made us sing that stupid Whitney song "The Greatest Love Of All" (which all the fellow buffy marks will remember as Cordys favorite song to butcher) At my sisters 8th grade grad, some girl palyedthat Titanic song on the saxophone, badly. My dad was trying so hard not to laugh that he went off to the restrooms so he could laugh. Oops I think I went a bit too offtopic here SORRY Looking back, I'm glad I'm done with school. sfaJack 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 Eighth grade graduations are lame. It's like hey, congratulations--you haven't accomplished much of anything! Oh, and my senior prom sucked. I couldn't dance much at all since I'd broken my leg a few weeks before. And my date didn't put out at the end of the night. Our prom song was, I believe, End Of The Road. spiny norman 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 My graduation song was Jeff Buckley's Last Goodbye. Which basically succeeded in having everyone feel down about their love life and think the song somewhat inappropriate (especially given Cat Stevens' Wild World was the #2 choice and seemed far more appropriate). As for the "prom" song, I don't actually remember the last song played at my formal. Which is pretty awful as it was only 11 months ago. I think it may have been My Sharona, but who can say? Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2005 How many people were at Grad Nite at Disneyland? I'm doing that in June. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's great. Pretty much only 17 or 18 year olds there. a unique mix. They even had dance clubs set up indoors. Sadly the lines can still be long, but its all at night and it feels cool. Just try to get some sleep the day of it, cuz you'll get tired during grad nite and feel sleepy (which happened to me- so I went on The Railroad ride to wake me up)
Carnival 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2005 Prom story I went to my then girlfriend's prom that was 20 miles round trip from my house. After the prom, we were gonna go to the after party, I didn't have any shoes, just the tux shoes, We had like 15 mins before it started. I got the genius idea of driving back to my house to get some really fast. 40mph on the gravel road to the highway, then 90+ to my house. got the shoes, 100+mph on the way back, cop sees me. Cop chases...I go over a hill, I turn on the gravel road to her house, cut the lights, he goes straight. Whew, cut the lights back on, I'm running late, 50+mph now on the gravel, hit a slight hill, loose gravel...I end up rolling the car 3 times and it comes to rest on the driver's side in field. I climb out, feeling fine, push my car over on it's wheels, but it's totally fucked. I start walking....My hip starts hurting and swelling really bad. I walk 1/2 a mile to an old farm house. I'm wearing street clothes now - Eminem "My Name is" shirt - and I knock on the door, Old man answers, I tell him the deal, he let's me use the phone. he asks where i'm from, i say "Table Rock", and he looks at me...honest to god...and says... "I don't know any Shady's from Table Rock." It made my night.
