Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 I would have just put this in a RAW thread or something, but I doubt many would see it there. I downloaded the entire RAW Homecoming show to do this, so I hope at least a few of you get a laugh out of it. First I made a looping .GIF of it, and then I uploaded it at PutFile for you to actually watch it with sound and everything. I didn't put the Benny Hill music over it like I'd like to see though. Someone needs to make one with this, the Randy Orton RKO botch, etc... Enjoy: Click here for the video clip. EDIT: Slow: Fast:
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Wow. I want that slowed down just a TAD... just so I can get a better, clearer shot of her completely moving her head to the left and falling over. It isn't quite as obvious just watching it once, but seeing it on loop really shows off that detail. I just thought she fell completely backwards and THEN turned to her side. It was the reverse, it seems. Beautiful.

Guest I miss Test. Report post Posted October 13, 2005 It's not funny because of the botching, to me... it's because it's a 60-year old woman with no wrestling experience realizing that even the slightest thing could hurt her.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Don't you guys feel ashamed for watching that? Or do you laugh to hide the pain?
Guest clockworkraven Report post Posted October 13, 2005 It looks worse with every loop.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 I'm beginning to think that the wiff of Austin's arms past her head is what caused her to turn evil. I believe the similiar affliction is what eventually turned Chris Jericho heel months after Randy Orton's miss, but Jericho had a higher immunity to botches since he had been in WCW for so long. The Kid 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 ...Nobody in the front row is cheering or smiling. I'm pretty glad that TSN cuts away from the ole Austin vs. women thing.

Don't worry, it's a lame YTMND waiting to happen. Give it a couple weeks.

Guest adamsummers Report post Posted October 13, 2005 when i first saw that on RAW, i was in shock... then quickly turned into like a five minute long laugh... its so horrible yet funny and pathetic at the same time... poor linda... can't even take a simple stunner... King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Wow. I can't remember the last time the Stunner actually looked like a devestating move. Maybe when all the non-wrestlers like Slaughter (who didn't fall to his knees and made the move look brilliant), Vince and maybe Lawler were taking it in 97. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 I think that we can all agree that that's the worst Stunner sell ever. However, who had the best Stunner sells? I'm torn between Rock, who sold it like a madman...or Scott Hall, who leapt two feet into the air before falling with the Stunner.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 I've never liked Rock's oversell of the Stunner...Shane gets the award for best visual when he spit out the mouthful of beer following a stunner on whatever PPV that was... EDIT: to sell it well, I would say that, at the point of impact, the victim should pop up to their feet, briefly, jerking back at the waist and neck, arms flailing, then falling onto their back or to the side. I'd even take a slight hop into the air rather than just standing up...when the Rock does the whole fall and tumble back onto his feet and then fall again, it makes me groan... JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Shawn Michaels probably did one of the best jobs of selling it at WrestleMania 14.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 there you go, good example...
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 another poor sell example is when people get hit and then kinda slide down the attackers back or roll down the side of the arm/shoulder onto the mat...hard to explain...basically, the force of the move should cause a person to go UP, not just plop down instantly... nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 I'm actually pretty apathetic to how stupid it looked. I find it funnier that Linda fucked up the climax of an allegedly memorable moment.

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 I don't remember that one, Chris, i'd have to go back and look...I've only seen that match once and I fast forwarded through most of it so...
reign 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 If Vince and crew cared they should have had Linda come out the next week and diss on Austin telling every one that she was smarter than him and "fooled" him when he attempted the Stunner since he really couldn't see her and all he woulda seen is her lifeless body on the canvass...asking too much I know but it would at least do some damage control on what is easily the worst Stunner of all time....
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 while I see where you're going with that, reign, I think it'd be best for everyone if the WWE just did what they always do best: pretend it never happened...
Guest I miss Test. Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Ignoring it would be the best thing they can do. Hope people forget, and go back to thinking an important announcement is ensuing when the Wrestlemania X music hits, which is the solitary value you can garner out of an on-screen Linda McMahon character. Guest Fishyswa Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Guys, guys, come on. That's not a botch or a blown spot at all. It's clear to me that Austin put ether on his shoulder before hand.
