Magus 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2005 From what I understand, JR isn't that big a fan of Steph, and neither Steph nor HHH are big fans of his. I don't think there's a big conspiracy against Ross, as he has plenty to do other than announce RAW. But I think he could've obviously gone out in a better way, and it sure as hell wouldn't have happened if Austin, Foley, or Rock (good friends of JR) were still the top dogs. RedJed 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2005 Totally the wrong place to put this, but curious if the fact that Ross moreless refused to "play the games" on Spike TV's last Raw of pushing the USA move like Coach and Lawler did led to what happened to him with the demotion. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2005 Here's the thing that Ross bashers can't seem to grasp: There isn't anyone decent they would use to replace him. Why this huge desire to sign Mike Goldberg? The guy announces a 3rd tier niche sport (UFC) and also does football games for the shitty Fox Sports Net channel. He isn't notable or anything, and frankly the crowd would treat him much the same as they did Michael Cole in 1998-99. He was right to turn them down, as it would have killed his credibility for future legit sports jobs. JR has actually been the best of the Raw announcers lately.
