RepoMan Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 I don't think the media is overexposing the issue, it's important and if you look at history we're due for this sort of thing, but the media is overhyping it and doing thier best to make everyone shit thier pants so if it dosn't become a pandemic the issue isn't going to be taken seriously by the public in the future.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Well at least I know Im fucked if this does go down. I live outside of Salisbury MD which is the HQ for Perdue Chicken (Frank Perdue - RIP), and right across the street from a chicken house. The entire Eastern Shore is like one big Chicken House anyway, they're like McDonalds around here, you cant go more than say 5 miles without seeing one somewhere. Aside from the "OMG I could catch the bird flu!" crisis, which is a legit concern for me because there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of people in this area who are in contact with chickens every day, theres also the fact that it will totally ruin the local economy if they start having to kill chickens because of it. Yay. This might be reason to move from the outhouse (as dubbed by former Governor Schaffer) of Maryland to somewhere else where Chickens don't outnumber people by so much (there are supposedly 600 million chickens).
Failed Bridge Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 In the album Kayne West is now working on he explains that "The Bird Flu" was released by Prime Minister Tony Blair and the "British FBI" into the crow and raven population to keep them from protecting the other members of the bird species from bird-watcher brutality.
The Czech Republic Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Tony Blair does not care about bird people
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Whatever happened to SARS?
Failed Bridge Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 people figured out it wasn't a threat as long as you ate some Chicken Noodle Soup, drank some orange juice, and took a couple of asprin.
Cartman Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Sad thing is, there is a vaccine for this Avian Flu for birds which can prevent them from getting sick, but none for humans yet. So poor coutries that cant afford these vaccines are the ones responsible for this spreading if it does. Also any vaccine is minimum 6 months away from being developed once the human mutation is realized.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 13, 2005 Report Posted November 13, 2005 So synthesize it and put it in chicken feed.
