Secret Agent Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 I would imagine Texas got the leap this week due to beating Texas Tech who, overrated or not, was ranked # 7.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 I'm not sure the BCS can ever be accepted. If the system produces a result different from our expectations, it will be critized. If it produces the same results, then what's the point of having it?
teke184 Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 Texas got the leap from beating Texas Tech for two reasons: 1. Their #7 ranking 2. Their 6-0 record before the game Because Texas's opponents have a better combined record than USC's (something like a .630 win percentage for Texas's guys vs. a .450% for USC), it shot Texas's computer rankings through the roof while USC's are lagging. Outside of UCLA, I don't see a team USC has yet to play this season that will give them a good boost. They better hope that Notre Dame, Oregon, Arizona State, and others win out.
LooseCannon25 Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 I don't see USC or TEXAS losing so it doesn't really matter who is #1 or #2.The team I feel sorry for is Va Tech. They will most likely go undefeated and be left out just like Auburn last year.Of course that is old news but it is still unfortunate for them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Miami will take care of that dilemna by defeating them I'm still hopefull The Canes will play in a BCS Bowl, maybe even the championship. The way I see it. LSU and Alabama play each other, one of those teams drops off Georgia has 2 0r 3 tough games remaining, depending on what you think of GT UCLA has the honor of playing at USC to end the season If Miami runs the table and beats Va Tech the, imo, would be #3 or #4 BCS at the very worst.

If they beat all 3 top 25 teams remaining on their schedule it would probably boos tthem over Texas end of season.
CanadianChris Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 USC will pass Texas at some point because of how good their schedule is (UCLA, Cal, Fresno State) and how bad Texas' is. Texas will drop in the computers when they roll over the likes of Oklahoma State and Kansas.
Art Sandusky Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 Virginia Tech is losing this year, possibly twice after the bowls are done with. This year's Auburn is Alabama.
cabbageboy Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 Bama seems like a team that wins by the skin of their teeth. I can't see them going undefeated with Auburn, LSU, and Georgia in the SEC title game all left. That Va Tech/Miami game is in Blacksburg, correct? I think the Hokies will beat them by about 2 TDs. This is not a real amazing Miami team, though still in the top 10. And I think Va Tech will smoke FSU should they meet in the ACC title game.
iggymcfly Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 Yeah, Alabama was a contender before they lost Prothro, but honestly, that offense can't score on anyone. I don't see any way that they get through LSU AND Auburn AND the SEC Championship game undefeated. VT does have Miami at home, so the ACC championship's probably their best chance to pick up a loss. Given that their just flat out better than the Seminoles, I don't see any reason why they shouldn't coast through the rest of the schedule and go to 12-0.
