USC Wuz Robbed! Posted May 16, 2006 Author Report Posted May 16, 2006 I seem to remember "Uncle Marshall and Aunt Lilly".
Jebus Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 I seem to remember "Uncle Marshall and Aunt Lilly". Yeah but everyone's an "Aunt" or "Uncle" to the kids in the future...i.e.: Uncle Barney
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted May 17, 2006 Author Report Posted May 17, 2006 My point is if they had broken up, Lilly would have been out of Ted's life by the time the kids were born, likely. The fact the kids knew of such an aunt Lilly indicates she's still around.
KingPK Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I was leery going into this season after how last season ended, but they certainly got off to a good start. Barney mimicking different ways of killing himself and the whole "b-pegs" conversation was great.
CanadianChris Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Awesome. I missed this show a lot.
naiwf Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I thought this episode sucked. It did exactly what I figured and fast forwarded through the first 2 1/2 months of Ted & Robin's relationship. I didn't expect them to make it to past the 6th episode of the season, but I thought they'd at least milk the newness of the relationship a little. I'm sure the ratings will be fine as it's the lead in to the # 1 comedy on TV, but I think the worst thing about the show as a whole is that it's far too predictable.
Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Any idea if this is or will be coming out on DVD? Season 1 comes out on DVD, November/21st/2006.
bob_barron Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 Wow, Barney's really a huge a-hole
CanadianChris Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 Barney Stinson: Worst wing man in history.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 I think Barney actually WAS teaching Marshall it's a dog-eat-dog world out there for dating. Barney was always setting up Ted ("Haaaave you met Ted?") because Ted had been single and knew the difficulties of meeting someone. Marshall had been in a relationship for 9 years. He had no idea what it was like. Barney's version of tough love.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 26, 2006 Author Report Posted September 26, 2006 At least Marshall... and Lily got the last laugh in the end.
CanadianChris Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Good episode, but watching Steven Keaton making out with some random chick was somewhat unsettling.
bob_barron Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Good episode, even though the parents being divorced was obvious
DrVenkman PhD Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Hooray, no more conflict with Corner Gas
The Tino Standard Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Mother is moving to 8 Um, what? Where did you read this? The schedule for next week has the show still airing at 8:30. And if HIMYM is moving to 8, then what's happening with The Class?
naiwf Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Mother is moving to 8 Are they dumping The Class or is it just a flip flop of the schedule?
bob_barron Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 It's a flip flop. I read it- http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=7213
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 A reminder- How I Met is on at 8 tonight
KingPK Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 Barney's form letter was priceless. "I just have to fill in her name. What was it again? It started with an A......I'll just put 'Resident'."
Hawk 34 Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 I liked this episode probably the most of this season's episodes so far. Sure, the twist was caught a mile away but it was still fun nontheless. Also, I think the schedule flip-flop was a good move. The Class, isn't a lead off type show yet and it works well after HIMYM. The show is improving but I still wish they hack off a couple of those characters.
bob_barron Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 Yea, twist was too obvious, but the episode was hilarious so I was okay with it. Barney really is too awesome
CanadianChris Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 I'm still amazed NPH didn't get an Emmy nomination last season. Barney is one of the very best characters on TV.
bob_barron Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Barney just gets better and better if that's even possible
KingPK Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 That's what sucked about the second half of last season. There were too many episodes that barely had any Barney-centric storylines. They seem to have figured that out this season. Backlighting and displaying the porn collection is something I should look into. Alyson Hannigan has made The Leap to hottie with the dark hair.
Darthtiki Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 Neil Patrick Harris, Content Gay Man Figured it belonged in here.
Vern Gagne Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 That was fairly obvious. They better not make the character gay.
CanadianChris Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 So, seven episodes to undo the Marshall and Lily breakup. Fewer than I expected, frankly. Now the writers can get busy breaking up Ted and Robin. Although, judging by the second half of last season, that's not something I'm really sure I want to see.
