Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 I do have to wonder what new fans think of all of the older guys showing up. Your normal casual new WWE fan must be confused about a few of these guys.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 As awful as Downhome's idea is, its a hell out of a lot better than Bischoff / Long.

Guest JericholicEdgeHead Report post Posted November 7, 2005 90% of the WWE roster could learn a thing or two from guys like Greg Valentine, Ricky Steamboat, Ted Dibiase, ect. Today's wrestlers...sure they are "bigger" but they have no clue how to work the crowd or put on a good match without everything being scripted for them. I would watch old tapes of Greg Valentine vs. Santana, Flair, Bret Hart, Steamboat, Backlund or whoever over just about all of the shit WWE puts out today. For those who watched guys like Valentine back in their prime knows what I mean.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 Well there's no doubt about that at all. I think it's fair to say that matches from years ago, as well as the workers (of course), had a far better understanding of in ring technique than many of the new guys of today. There are so many small and simple, yet very critical, things that many of the new wrestlers of today just lack. It's not just because of WWE not letting them either, it's a problem that starts all the way at the most basic of indie groups.

Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 Just because Downhome actually explained the match and the angle to have the match, I'll give him credit and won't say he stole Rawmvp's idea But still I wouldn't want to order a major ppv and watch that match. That could be a heat match through.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 Well they had the gimmick battle royal at WM17, and that was a fucking huge show, and it didn't really hurt anything. I'm just sayin'. Besides, if it was the end of the legends and Eugene vs. Conway for now, it would be a fitting end to the angle. Or hell, let it be the scene where Eugene turns heel, beats up all of the legends, and admits he's not really retarded.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 Well they had the gimmick battle royal at WM17, and that was a fucking huge show, and it didn't really hurt anything. That match was not in a position to do anything except take the crowd down before the big matches. You could've stuck almost anything in that slot on that show because everything was so over, it wouldn't have mattered. My problem is when they bring in nostalgia acts and they get the respect and recognizibility pop, WWE mistakes this and thinks about keeping them around, which is a mistake a la Hogan. Hogan pops a crowd and is good once in a while, but he wears thin and is only good in doses now. Giving second rate guys like Goldust their 4th shot isn't helping anyone. I just can't believe they have guys like Shelton Benjamin on the roster and they are jobbing him out and he doesn't even get on Raw, but there's fucking Goldust on my screen. Sometimes, I hate this company.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 Valentine has always looked like a huge drunk, so it'd be fantastic if they brought him in as some kind of alcoholic legend for backstage skits. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's what Flair is for.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 I'm disappointed. I thought this would be about Van Hammer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I dont know if its still open or not, but he used to run a wrestling school locally, being that hes from the area. And I thought this was going to be about Vince's mystery Celebrity at WM22.. Cena vs MC Hammer (or whatever he calls himself these days).
