USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 I didn't think Priest would be a Chief next year with LJ performing as well as he has. This only softens the blow for Vermeil when he has to break the news to Priest. He'll still bawl though.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 Bah, my fantasy team is in shambles if this is true, since I have TO and Priest. Booooooooo!

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 8, 2005 This is sad, Priest was one of the class acts of the league and had a shitload of potential to be a truly great back but could never shake the injury bug. Shame.
Sass 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 Holmes set the single season record of 27 TD's rushing in 2003. He's not a HOFer but he's been one of the best RB's for 5 seasons. That's damn good. If this is farewell, then see ya and fuck you Priest, sincerely, a Raiders fan. Peace.
Guest Leelee Report post Posted November 8, 2005 It's a shame Priest never had the full career he should have had... both college and pros. Fuck you, Ricky.

He'll still bawl though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can imagine a press conference this week with Priest taking everything in stride and complete confidence, while Vermeil is absolutely bawling next to him. Special K 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 This is what sucks about Fantasy Football. I'm a big Priest fan He's classy, and a total badass, his many flips into the endzone are great to watch. Yet I bet on this happening and picked up Larry Johnson early in my draft.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 All I can remember is thinking the Ravens should have tried to keep him but not worrying about it after Jamal had his breakout. Now Jamal sucks and Priest is out too.
Special K 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 From my fantasy league: KSHB NBC TV in Kansas City is reporting that Priest Holmes has "very possibly" played his final game in a Chiefs uniform and could announce his retirement from the NFL as soon as Thursday. According to the report, further examinations revealed a lump on his spine that could lead to paralysis if he continued to play. The Chiefs have not officially confirmed the report and, as of Tuesday, were awaiting the results of a third evaluation in Miami.
Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 It is on ESPN.com right now, in the Fantasy section...Its being reported that Priest Holmes is done for the season because its going to take them 4 weeks or so to diagnos whats wrong with his head
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 10, 2005 Just heard on ESPNNEWS and NFL Network that Priest Holmes may still be able to come back next season, but he's definitely done. He's got a lump in his spine, but hey if Tedy Bruschi can come back from a stroke, I wouldn't doubt Holmes could.
Guest Leelee Report post Posted November 10, 2005 Looks like Holmes doesn't have structural damage... so, his career probably isn't over. Just this year.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 10, 2005 Wayne Chrebet's expected to retire Steve Young-style as well.
