That's great. 50 tried so hard to imitate Eminem, yet fell so far from where 8 Mile hit.

From boxofficeguru-

Shooting up a strong opening in fourth place was Paramount's urban action drama Get Rich or Die Tryin' which collected an estimated $12.5M over the three-day period despite playing in the fewest theaters among the weekend's three big openers. The semi-autobiographical film starring hip hop superstar 50 Cent averaged a muscular $7,567 from only 1,652 theaters and captured $18.2M since its Wednesday launch. According to studio data, African Americans made up 75% of the audience while 53% was under the age of 25. The gender split was virtually even with females slightly edging out the guys with 51% of those polled. Reviews were mostly bad, but the rapper's loyal following was counted on to show up on opening weekend. Paramount hopes it can now broaden the film's appeal to non-fans and those who normally do not spend money on urban fare.

Get Rich was pretty good in my opinion and I can't stand 50 Cent (Murder Inc. fan) At the very least it was much better than 8 Mile. It wasn't even playing in the theatre I normally go to, which is in an urban area. The theatre was packed for a Sunday night.

Did anyone go to see Derailed? Clive Owen constantly impresses me. The guy is like the new Cary Grant - women love him, and guys can respect him because he can kick some ass.

I also thought that RZA did a really good job with his character as well. I couldn't help but laugh at Xzibit, though. I'm too used to him being the Pimp My Ride guy...

man, Chicken Little was not very good...but it's a kid flick so it automatically gets huge numbers...I just hope that's not the standard of quality Disney will be settling on from here on out...after Nemo and Incredibles (yes I know they were Pixar), you can't help but expect Disney to continue churning out quality flicks, and Chicken Little just didn't cut it...

It took me a while to be sold on Clive Owen, but Closer and Sin City really got him over with me...I like the guy...

I went to it and I actually walked out on the film about 20 minutes into it. The first part of the movie didnt really grab me as it seemed a dramatic film to the level of Closer, with the obvious overtones of cheating, etc. I wasnt sure if it was going to get any better or turn into the film I expected (tense thriller) but I didnt even give it a chance. The theatre I saw it in was having problems with their projectors, so the film would cut out every 30 seconds as well, and that got very old very fast.

So was it actually a decent film then?
