Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2008 You're probably better off finding a cheap Xbox somewhere than you are trusting the emulator. I've tried three Xbox games and only one (Fable) worked perfectly. The second one doesn't show any loading bars, freezes on me about once a day at random, and the sound is intermittent (so when there's nobody around you'll hear the sounds of the action that happened 5-10 seconds ago, for example); the third one is MVP 04 and every team's jersey looks like they put on blank white jerseys & played paintball before heading to the ballpark. Any word on if the 60GB HDD will be sold separately and for what price? I've been debating upgrading from 20GB for a while, but since I don't download movies or anything like that I couldn't justify the big price for an extra 100GB. Scroby 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2008 I need to get a new harddrive, I think I only have two gigs left on what I have now..maybe 3 or 4 once I deleate the Too Human demo, which I hated by the way. Seriously, I hate any game that uses the Left analog stick to swing an object.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2008 So it's official: Netflix users will be able to watch movies from the 360 at no extra charge. Fucking sweet. A ton of news came out of their press conference, including release dates for GOW2 (November 7) and RE5 (pushed back to March 13, 2009), the announcement of Lips, a singing game that allows you to connect your MP3 player and use the songs from that, FFXIII is coming to 360 and Rock Band 2 will have 84 songs on the disc plus you can rip the songs from the first one so you don't have to swap discs. Not to step on your toes but you forgot to mention the Fall Xbox interface update, which is going to change it entirely, add avatars, and the Xbox Party system which is going to be fucking sweet. Would be a wise thing to do considering they're saying you'll be able to 'save' games on to the HD come Fall Update to improve performance and save on wearing out your diskdrive ala PS3. Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2008 Can't see there being many more MMORPGs coming out on the xbox to be fair, though I'm seeing that from a UK perspective where FFXI is pretty hard to find or get hold of.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2008 There was also a Superheros MMORPG annouced the other day as well. The people who were going to make the Marvel MMORPG are making pretty much the same thing but without the Marvel license.

Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2008 Aye, I know that, but I'm not too sure on the appeal of an MMO on a games console. I remember when Star Wars Galaxies was suppose to come out on the xbox and it never happened. I guess, I just feel MMOs are a 'PC thing', but I'd definatly be interested in checking out the new superheroes one. City of Heroes was ok until you realized all the missions were the same. Thoth 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2008 Is it strange that I'm really hyped for 16x10 support over VGA moreso than other features? And that I don't even use my monitor as a 360 display?

Remember the Bee website? lol The clock ran out and the announcement was shelved. Rumors say they were forced to cancel but rumors are rumors and the internet creates them all. There's even rumors they were going to announce some sort of game for the PS3, since they're not Microsoft based anymore. (Yet in a round about way they are since MS has first refusal on all IPs Bungie make and own the Halo Franchise).
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2008 I'm going to ask the same thing I did in the tech folder... What's a better hook-up for 1080p...VGA or HDMI? Or are neither that much of a step-up from standard component cables that they're worth the expense?

SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2008 I'm going to repeat our conversation here, so if anyone else wants to give me additional feedback, they won't have to go over the same ground. If you're going to upgrade to anything, I would go up to HDMI. It's digital, as opposed to the component (also known as YPbPr) cables which are analog, and VGA cables, if you're talking about what I think you are, don't connect to the 360 and I believe that is because VGA (also known as 15-pin D-Sub) is video only, no audio. HDMI is digital, and it has audio and video all in one nice little neat package, and it's pretty much the way to go as far as a/v connections go these days. However, if you're not willing to drop the money on the HDMI quite yet, don't worry about it, components are okay and you'll be getting your HD regardless. The only problem is that some component cables don't work for 1080p, so YMMV there. HDMI is better than anything out there, pretty much, and handier. But also more expensive and usually not included with things. VGA/D-Sub is pretty much for use with computer graphics cards, so if you have a laptop and it has a D-Sub out, you can display your screen on the TV, for example, or if you want a second "monitor" for say, putting on visualization displays for music or watching downloaded movies and such, then there you go. Hope that helps. Thanks. I see what you are saying about component versus HDMI. The problem I'm facing with HDMI is that my 360 isn't an elite, so I'd have to get the Mad Catz HDMI adapter, plus the cable. I was hoping this thing would be cheaper (over $50 less on amazon.com, and you still need to order the actual cable) and get the same results... ...but probably not, I guess. (As you can see, they've gotten around the audio output issue by making it a secondary line.) Has anyone ever used the 360 VGA adapter?

AnonymousBroccoli 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2008 I don't know if there's universal compatability with every USB hub, but in general, I would think they should work. Rock Band comes bundled with a powered hub. There's two USB ports on the back of the HD DVD drive, for the record. And one on the back of the 360, above the ethernet port. (Sorry if I'm pointing out the obvious. )
