Most disgusting promotional tactic (although I'm not sure anyone is going to top anything WWE did this year) - Since I already have a WWE one in the WWE folder, I'll say Chono putting himself over in G-1 yet again and using Hash's death to get heat and sympathy.

Wrestler of the Year - Satoshi Kojima - I'm just going based on his historic 4-Crown title reign, along with holding the TC for most of the year. He's also a good worker, who had really good matches with a few different guys. There are guys who've had better years in the ring, but I'm assuming this category is an overall type of deal.

Feud of the Year - Akiyama & Hashi - This wasn't really a feud per se, as it's more of a running storyline between 2 guys who are supposedly close. Even so, this story was just very well played out. The basic premise is a master vs. student kind of deal, where the master is a complete prick and the student is a hard-luck, sympathetic guy. Both guys are brilliant at playing their role, and their matches have been accompanied by some high-quality wrestling.D

Match of the Year - Naomichi Marufuji & KENTA vs. Ikuto Hidaka & Minoru Fujita (5/8/05). Yes, this was better than Joe vs. Kobashi. Don't believe me? Ok :P

Best Brawler - Stan Hansen. I don't know, I can't really think of anyone who's been having good-great brawls.

Best High Flier - If this is about who has the most spectacular spots, then Jack Evans in a walk. If it's which high flyer has the best wrestling ability, then it's hard to say. I can't think of any pure high-flyers that are also really good wrestlers. Maybe I'm forgetting someone, but most of the good juniors I can think of, aren't really high-flyers.

Best Tag Team - If it's based on ability and success, I'd probably go with Nakamura & Tanahashi, as they held the IWGP tag titles for most of the year, and had pretty good matches along the way.

Most Underrated - Makoto Hashi - This guy gets credit from those who closely follow NOAH, but otherwise he's basically unknown. He was a large reason why the 8/19 tag match was a strong MOTYC, and his ongoing "feud" with Akiyama has been excellent. He's always been a solid worker, but this year he's picked up his game due to the Akiyama storyline.

Best PPV - The best shows this year have come from NOAH and ROH, and none of them have been on PPV. Likewise, New Japan's best shows have also not been on PPV. So I'll go with TNA Sacrifice, which had a really good main event, and another 3 solid matches on the undercard. TNA actually had a good 2nd half, as they had a couple other PPVs that were fairly good (Unbreakable and Genesis). Honorable mention to Wrestlemania XXI as well.

Wrestler of the Year

Samoa Joe. Even though I think Eddie Guerrero was a bigger asset to WWE than Joe was to ROH this year (unlike 2004), Joe's body of work was better than Guerrero's. Eddie was the MVP, but Samoa Joe is wrestler of the year.

Feud of the Year

CM Punk vs. Jimmy Rave

Match of the Year

Samoa Joe vs. Kenta Kobashi, although I have yet to see Gibson vs. Dragon or Strong. Samoa Joe and Lethal vs. Homicide and Ki was also very, very good.

Best Brawler

Homicide, an absolutely fantastic brawler. JBL is the best WWE brawler, but even he can't compare to the sheer viciousness of Homicide.

Best High Flier

Jack Evans followed by Paul London and Jimmy Jacobs.

Best Tag Team

Jack Evans and Roderick Strong, but I enjoy all ROH tag teams. MNM wasn't close.

Most Underrated

Homicide, I thought he was really strong this year. I really liked the Danielson vs. Homicide feud from what I saw.

Most Overrated

Carlito tops AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio.

Best Promos

Eddie Guerrero, easily. CM Punk was pretty good too.

Best PPV

WrestleMania 21.

Worst PPV

Great American Bash.

Wrestler of the Year- Kurt Angle- he's had excellent matches since January with a variety of opponents on free TV, ranging from the last man standing match against JBL on SD in January, to signalling the return of Ric Flair having good matches on the post-Vengance Raw, and his most recent matches against Benjamin on the 2 most recent Raws. Angle been involved in standout matches on all of the PPV's he has been involved in. He has added a new facet to his character since jumping to Raw and despite being physically broken down, is operating on a standard that many thought he could not hold up on a consistent basis this time last year. Is building a legacy as a legend in the WWE

Feud of the Year- Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero- was a very good stroyline from February through till the Great American Bash, would've been better if they'd kept it simpler and hadn't involved Rey's child. Still the matches involving Rey and Eddie were all of a high standard running from February with their teaming, through to September and the cage match- I personally have not seen a similar consistent run of matches given such a high profile anywhere else this year.

Match of the Year- From a personal standard, being that I was in the crowd and got to witness them first hand- the most memorable matches of the year for me were Chris Daniels/AJ Styles from the TWC Supershow in March and Kobashi/GO vs Williams/Akiyama from Universal Uproar earlier this month. Both had incredible atmospheres and were exempellary examples of their respective styles of wrestlling in introducing them to the British crowd.

Best Brawler- Homicide- I loved the series with Danielson and also loved the match against Williams, the match and angle at Manhattan Mayhem, and the match he had against Low Ki at Uproar. I am looking forward to him and Ki teaming against Fleisch and Storm at 1PW in January and the Williams rematch at the same weekend

Best High Flier- Jack Evans- I haven't seen any of his singles matches but loved his innovative team with Strong. He does highflying manouvres that don't seem physically possible

Best Tag Team- Jack Evans/Roderick Strong- Again they had a series of strong matches against a variety of opponents and managed to advance and innovate the tag team scene at the same time

Most Underrated- Alex Shelley in TNA- I've seen what he can do in ROH, with a great character and if given enough time. He seems to get stuck with stupid gimmicks in TNA, which don't give him the chance to show off his fairly unique non-highspot based x division style...

Most Overrated- I don't like to criticize wrestlers but I hate the fact that WWE as been pushing Chris Masters down our throats for ages, he still isn't over and has had one good singles match (against HBK at Unforgiven) since being called up!

Best Promos- Eddie Guerreros promos through the summer on Rey Mysterio

Best PPV- ECW ONS- just a great nostalgia trip, with all of te matches offering flashbacks to the old ECW stuff- shame they never followed up on it but it will stand out as the one time that WWE recognised that someone else had promoted a different product that had been successful

Worst PPV- Great American Bash- at least it wasn't as bad as last years incident

Most disgusting promotional tactic- WWE/UPN airing the terrorist angle on the same day as the London bombings. Then not apologising but keeping the 'sympathisers' going into the Great American Bash and not apologising once....

I have also particularly seen and enjoyed work by Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, CM Punk, and Jamie Noble but haven't seen enough of their work to judge it against the body of work that I have of other performers...

Wrestler of the Year

Samoa Joe

Feud of the Year

AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels

Match of the Year

Joe Chece vs. Johnny Idol

(Sure, not a *****, or even above ***1/2, but it had a lot of drama in it, and considering how green Chece is and how bland Idol is, the fact that this match was as good as it was means a lot more to me than perfect work.)

Best Brawler

Michael Sain

Best High Flier

AJ Styles

Best Tag Team

PRIDE

Most Underrated

Most of the NECW roster

Most Overrated

Cena

(Yes, I think he's worse than most TSM'ers make him out to be.)

Best Promos

Jim Mitchell

Best PPV

I haven't ordered any PPVs this year but WMXXI and One Night Stand, though I heard many good things about TNA's Unbreakable (and a good portion of TNA's PPVs after LockDown, for that matter). However, ONS made me mark more than any other show this year, so One Night Stand gets it for me.

Worst PPV

One of the brand-exclusive WWE pieces of shyte.
