Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Matt Leinart made a nice play and then he paid for it.
Bored Posted January 5, 2006 Author Report Posted January 5, 2006 That would have been called incomplete 99% of the time. The Texas player didn't even dispute it.
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 If USC wins this game, I dare say it's because of Leinart, not Bush.
Failed Bridge Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Incomplete, because he didn't hang on when he hit the ground. That would've been incomplete if a receiver had done that, too. ground can't cause a fumble. He had possession, hit the ground and the impact caused it to pop out. He needs to make a football move before he has possession. He couldn't do that. He did. He jumped up, caught it in the air, twisted his body, stumbled back and hit the ground.
Urban Warfare Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 SC needs a touchdown in the worst way here.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Texas needs to get to Leinart to have a chance in this game.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 THAT WAS A HEADLOCK! WHERE WAS THE FLAG!?
Urban Warfare Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 They are getting pressure, but Leinart is moving around inside and outside the pocket.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Incomplete, because he didn't hang on when he hit the ground. None of which constitutes making a football move after the catch. If he hits the ground, he needs to hang onto the ball; if he stays upright, he needs to make a move to run with the ball.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 They're getting sacked right out of FG range here.
Failed Bridge Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 after that sack they're out of their kicker's field goal range.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Alright guys it's a really moot point. USC is probably going to go to the running game in the second half b/c they're having good success with it. I fear Carroll's halftime adjustments.
Urban Warfare Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Looks like SC will have to settle for a Field Goal which is big for Texas.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Alright guys it's a really moot point. OK, pot.
Bored Posted January 5, 2006 Author Report Posted January 5, 2006 USC is going to need a near perfect second half. Texas played like shit for the first 20 minutes and yet they are up 16-10.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 16-10 is a manageable deficit. Getting within a TD is really big for USC.
Failed Bridge Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 nice time to get your career long for a Field Goal. I didn't think he could hit from over 40.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 USC got a nice field goal there but jesus. I think Carroll will adjust still and it scares the hell out of me. Texas is playing with intensity and I wonder if they can keep it up.
Guest Smues Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Take a drink everytime Dama says "halftime adjustment"
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Take a drink everytime Dama says "halftime adjustment" Â You can't drink that much.
Failed Bridge Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Take a drink everytime Dama says "halftime adjustment" I don't have $50 to spend on booze.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Herby's prediction for USC going in down at the half is spot on.
sfaJack Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Why is Dama so convinced Pete Carroll is some kind of unbeatable genius? I'd say much of his success is due to the unbelieveable talent he has. Being an excellent recruiter doesn't make one a genius. See: Brown, Mack.
Urban Warfare Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I hate how Mack Brown completey ignores the question posed and goes into a speech on how great the teams are.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Pete appeared a little nervous when he was speaking there at the half. I really think USC's victory stands in the running game.
therealworldschampion Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 At least this year the national title game has the marching bands at halftime and not some shitty pop act.
Failed Bridge Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 USC deserves to lose after having their entire marching band do that Michael Jackson move.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Ok what does Texas have to do to win in this second half?
therealworldschampion Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 That "playcall" was fucking shitty, it was basically a Stuart Scott ripoff.
