Hogan Made Wrestling Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Ok what does Texas have to do to win in this second half? I think their best chance is to score on their first drive and then chew up as much of the clock as possible. Get into the 4th quarter with a 2 score lead and USC will be worried.
yankovic fan Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Take a drink everytime Dama says "halftime adjustment" Can't drink on the job... though I can watch football.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Ok what does Texas have to do to win in this second half? I assume you're looking for something more involved than, "score 5 fewer points than USC or more?"
sfaJack Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Umm...don't allow USC to outscore them by more than 5? Actually, by protecting the ball and continuing to shut down USC's WR's while occassionally putting a few points on the board, they should be good. /obvious analyst mode
Urban Warfare Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 That interview between John Saunders and that troop from Iraq was.... awful.
Failed Bridge Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I'd fuck that blonde bitch with one leg.
Guest Leelee Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 am I the only one marveling over the pass protection that Jonathon Scott is providing? Really, he's just man-handling whomever USC sends at him. I was going to mention that. USC is in trouble defensively... since their strategies are 1) pressure on QB, 2) turnovers because of that. Also, this is a very, very, very ugly football game. And thus we have reason #123 for a playoff. A month of no games causes a bunch of screwups.
Slayer Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 once again I must state that Texas has by far the ugliest cheerleader and band unis I've ever seen
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 God, a ticker to show the team's "celebrity" fans? Shoot me now.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Yeah but I wouldn't say ugliest cheerleaders. Alabama and Tech had some real wolfers on the sidelines at the Cotton Bowl.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Yeah but I wouldn't say ugliest cheerleaders. Alabama and Tech had some real wolfers on the sidelines at the Cotton Bowl. How about "woofers?"
Guest Leelee Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Great, I come here just in time for the kids to insult the cheerleaders.
Failed Bridge Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 USC wins the battle of the bands. Michael Jackson move earns them an immediate disqualification.
Art Sandusky Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 nice time to get your career long for a Field Goal. I didn't think he could hit from over 40. How many times do you think the USC offense stalled this season farther out than his supposed "career long?" When you have a pair of offensive machines like these two, their kickers' stats aren't that telling. Damn straight that Prothro catch was the play of the year. GodDAMN that was incredible to see at the time, and still is. So yeah, if Texas can't put up at least three on this first possession, they're going to have to play 100% perfect the rest of the game. Their defense is superb so far, they just need to keep it up and slow down LenDale White. He's been the sole remotely consistent part of the USC offense so far, and it surprises me that they haven't gone to him more. Mack Brown needs to bust out the stick'em for his offensive and defensive backfields. I like the little scrolls at the bottom of the screen during the band performances about their respective schools. Anything that reminds people of the "student" part of student-athlete is fine by me.

Failed Bridge Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Great, I come here just in time for the kids to insult the cheerleaders. The USC tennis team is garbage from what I hear.
iggymcfly Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 (edited) I still think USC's gonna take this. Texas got all the breaks in the first half, and USC's still only down 6. They've been a second half team all year, so there's no reason to think any different here. In order to win, however, USC needs to run the football. LenDale White can get 5 or 6 yards up the middle all day long, and used sparingly, Bush can get to the outside as well. When they spread it out with four or five receivers, though, they're just giving Texas the green light to tee off on Leinart. When Texas knows USC's passing, their defense is more than good enough to shut them down. Edited January 5, 2006 by iggymcfly
Art Sandusky Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 The best band uniforms belong to Ohio State, with Tennessee as the sentimental runner-up.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I now don't care if USC -6.5 comes in or not, with the night I've had. I made a ton of money on the Raptors blowing out Orlando.
The Robfather Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Texas is receiving at the start of the second half. They need to get some points out of that, imo.
Slayer Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I said the cheerleader unis were ugly, not the girls themselves
yankovic fan Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Where do you work? Local 911 agency (the emergency # not some federal terrorist commission like a professor thought).
Art Sandusky Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Y'know, moving the kickoff up to the actual 8PM start time and hacking off the superfluous crap they have at halftime would really help these BCS games finish before midnight.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 The USC run game is what I fear most in the second half.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I expect the outcome of this game to rest on whether Texas scores here or not.
Failed Bridge Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Y'know, moving the kickoff up to the actual 8PM start time and hacking off the superfluous crap they have at halftime would really help these BCS games finish before midnight. Gotta please the sponsors.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 (edited) Y'know, moving the kickoff up to the actual 8PM start time and hacking off the superfluous crap they have at halftime would really help these BCS games finish before midnight. I agree with moving up the start time, but the "superfluous crap" has been part of the game for over a hundred years. If they started the game at 5pm EST, the traditional start time, this wouldn't be a problem. Edited January 5, 2006 by CanadianChris
Urban Warfare Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Texas 3 and out, thats huge for SC.
