Murdoch Getting Pushed, Cade Getting Depushed

Recommended Posts

Guest wootman
With the split between Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch, many backstage feel that it goes without question that Murdoch will be getting a push that may culminate with Intercontinental gold before Wrestlemania, but the question that remains is where does Cade end up? In late 2003, Lance Cade (then called Garrison Cade) was brought up and put with Mark Jindrak in a tag-team that many saw potential in, but was quickly disbanded. Cade was then paired with Coach as his "bodyguard" but then quickly sent back to the developmental ranks. With his semi-popular tag team again being separated, many again feel that Cade will be sent down to the developmental territories until WWE has another idea for a tag team or he may just be let go altogether. Many backstage like Lance Cade's attitude and talent, but most feel that WWE is only keeping him on the roster as a favor to Shawn Michaels. Cade, along with other WWE wrestlers Paul London and Brian Kendrick, is a graduate of Shawn Michael's school and Michaels has often said, even in his new book, that Cade was among the shining stars of the academy.

Wow, I would think the pushes would be the other way around. Murdoch seriously comes off like he should be wrestling at the country fair. I can't believe they've even given the thought to possibly giving him the IC title. Cade's kind of bland, but he comes off more as a WWE wrestler than Murdoch. If Murdoch is gonna be on TV a lot, can he please get new wardrobe at least? I can't believe he actually comes out in short little black trunks.

Also, I'd sure like to know what WWE was smoking when they put Murdoch over Shelton Benjamin so I can have some too. Even the owner of wrestlingclassics.com thought it was pathetic that an out of shape slovenly non-athletic wrestler beat someone of the caliber of Shelton Benjamin. It was one of the most outrageous booking decisions this year!

It seems to me that they're pushing Murdoch cause he makes weird faces. Or if not that, he's a diversion or a pawn for WWE to say, "See not all are wrestlers use steroids." What other explanation could there be? I just don't get WWE sometimes.

I like Murdoch's looks. It fits in with his gimmick.

Well, it would if he had a gimmick aside from his attire and wearing a grimace on his face at all time.

I say push him, if only because since 80% of the roster sucks (including him), I'd rather have Murdoch than another generic guy with muscles.

And that's exactly what Cade is. Release him and be done with it. Anyone who thinks this...

is a good hairstyle for wrestling needs to just stay far away from the ring.

Imagine that. A wrestler wearing wrestling trunks. What will they think of next?

Murdoch is in shape, and he's athletic. Just because he's not jacked to the gills doesn't mean he's not in shape or athletic. People need to get used to normal bodies, and not the myth created by years of bodies built with needles and pills.

Maybe there's a writer who thinks he's funny. Maybe Vince just felt like it. Or maybe they think he has more talent than his partner, Jeff Jarrett Mk II

Murdoch should wear jeans and maybe a flannel to cover up his body. I don't mind wrestlers that wear trunks but I don't want to see him in them! Coming out in little tights seems awkward in case considering he's rather out of shape and who wants to look at all that pasty white flab? I dunno, maybe he does it to get heel heat or something. If they're gonna push Murdoch, they might as well make him go all the way by burping and scratching himself and what not.

The team never should've broken up in the first place. WWE rushed the tag titles on them and then rushed both a title change and a break-up. How are fans supposed to get into characters and teams if WWE keeps altering them so much?

I think Jarrett would've actually done well with Cade's current gimmick when he first came to WWE. He didn't need a guitar or a flashing cowboy hat (though that was cool).

Jeff Jarrett Mk II

Hey now.... that's a little harsh to Jeff Jarrett... at least Jarrett has some average charisma and mic skills. Cade doesn't even have that going for him.

You'd think otherwise if they actually gave Cade more time to talk. He's a good talker if allowed the time to do so. As for charisma, I'd still put Cade ahead of Jarrett.

Are you for real? So you only like seeing muscley guys in tights? You care that much? Is there a closet you're hiding in, somewhere?

As HTQ said, get off of the misconception that only ripped/jacked guys are in shape. You can be in shape and NOT toned at the same time, you know? The guy's workrate is decent and he's a throwback to Stan Hansen, Dick Murdoch, etc. so I'm all for guys like him kicking the asses of pretty boys like Cade et al.

And Hansen and Murdoch could work for thirty minutes if need be. Not would you think about two guys who most people wouldn't think are in shape.

The WWE Divas are usually the highlight for me, or when Stephanie McMahon and those big-azz titties come bouncing out, so that scratches that out.

However, I just don't want to see flabby Trevor Murdoch in little tights! He's like the new Albert if you will in that it just seems "wrong" for him to wear that wardrobe. I probably wouldn't mind him as much if he put some damn pants on.

What the hell is your problem?

Trevor Murdoch's wrestling attire is hardly as offending as A-Train was. A-Train was a big, hairy, fat piece of shit. Trevor Murdoch is just a husky, typical guy. He's hardly as offending as A-Train.

He gets attention with that look. Look all over the roster and take a look at all the people on it. You see lots of muscles. Trevor stands out because of this body. And just because you don't look like you go to the gym all the time doesn't mean you aren't in shape and can't wrestle for long periods of time. Look at Samoa Joe.

I'm not going to call Trevor Murdoch a lard ass, but he's still one ugly dude.

And while I don't understand why he'd be getting pushed instead of Cade, what I'm even more confused by is why either one of them is getting a singles push in the first place. They were a decently hyped team coming in (vignettes and such) and they won the tag titles. Just when they were starting to establish their team as a commodity, the plug was pulled.

It's not like there's a ton of other teams on Raw to work with, nor is there a big need for either of those two to fill the singles ranks. These two hadn't even teased a break up. For that matter, when they DID break up, there was no explanation of it (both still came out to the same music and TitanTron even after the breakup, btw).

The whole thing just seems pointless.

Even though I didn't like the team, at least it was one they took some time to establish. Seeing them wrestle in singles matches was a total surprise. Was the breakup on Heat or what?

At least they're pushing the better worker. I think Murdoch's looked pretty good in his singles matches.

I can't believe people actually back this guy because he looks like shit. I don't care if he DOESN'T have to look in shape, Murdoch is a bad choice for the IC devision.

He looks like an old saggy piece of shit of the NWA mentallity, something that eventually killed that company.

That's probably the point. I imagine WWE feels that any sort of negative reaction to a heel is favourable to an apathetic one.

I don't take issue with Murdoch getting a push becuase he looks like shit, he does but that's not the point, I have an an issue with him being pushed becuase he's fucking terrible in the ring. He hasn't shown one little bit of potential and all he seems to do, like others have mentioned, is pull odd facial expressions.

However, Cade, a guy with a glowing recommendation from Shawn Michaels, is getting de-pushed. Why? I supposed creative can't come up with a gimmick for him. Well he's an idea, why not fire creative and get some people in with fresh ideas?

New Jake it's posts like these that make us ALL give up on you. Murdoch is fine for pushing as a mid-carder. If anything its nice WWE is actually pushing someone to go after the IC title.

Well I would do the same thing that WWE does right now. Granted I wouldnt have broken up the tag team so damn fast. Heck, I wouldnt even have two tag divisions but concentrate on making one good division on either brand. With that being said if I was to push either Cade or Murdoch it would most definately be Murdoch. I actually see potential in this guy. I like his body as well. It makes me think of the great puroresu wrestlers. besides he looks different from everyone else and I actually think he's a pretty good wrestler. Granted it hasnt been shown yet but if he really got the chance I could see him becoming pretty good. The IC title needs more people in its division as well. I'd like to see Murdoch getting a push.

Get used to Murdoch's body style. If they're going to seriously enforce the "no steroids, no drugs" policy, at least in the short term, you're going to see more people with bodies like Murdoch. And some of the faces attached to those bodies may belong to people you've known and cheered for, so are you going to suddenly hate on them because they now have more realistic bodies?

How about this crazy idea: people are backing this guy more because of the two workers, he's the better one. So it's immaterial to us that he's not a roid gorilla.

Wow ... I never thought that I'd hear that it was wrestlers looking like a 'saggy piece of shit" that killed the NWA.

Just an amazingly ignorant observation.
