This week in the NBA

Recommended Posts

Why though would you remove the team away from a place that's Top 10 in attendance to a place that was near the bottom in league attendance? If I was the Hornets owner I would want to stay in OKC and never leave.

Stern is probably going to "heavily encourage" Shinn to move back, even though as you said, the last few years of Hornets highlights always feature seas of empty seats. New Orleans is getting a real gift by getting their precious Saints back; moving both teams back is ridiculous. They're not going to be able to support the Hornets (nor did they ever really want to), so they belong in Oklahoma City, where they actually seem to be welcome. I thought they'd take a backseat to college basketball, but so far, they're certainly doing okay.

Anyway, after this season, one of these cities is losing its team, and it would actually be a much bigger kick in the balls to Oklahoma City by now.

It seems like Artest will get traded to Golden State, but the hold up is the game between Indy and Golden State. Not sure who's going to be involved for sure, but one of the rumored trades was Artest and Foster for Murphy and Pietrus.

Yeah, let's trade Artest for ANOTHER injury-prone player with a bloated contract. Donnie Walsh is a GENIUS.

Yeah like I said they're in the top 10 in league attendance. The people here have really taken NBA basketball on and adopted the Hornets as their own. They love it and it needs to stay here because it is supported so much better here.

I had heard that some other teams were looking to move so we may take them if we have to give up the Hornets.

Knicks win two in a row for the first time in a long time. Frye goes for 30, with the Curry/Lee/Davis/Marbury/Robinson starting five played for the 3rd game in a row.

What's up with Wade, why isnt he playing? I mean i assume its injury but I didnt hear of any injury.

This game looks like game 6 of the ECF last year, wade was out, and they just got raped, murdered, and then their corses got raped and cut up by the pistons. Suns are doing that too.

How long is Wade out for? it'll be interesting to see the differences between how the Heat play without Wade and without Shaq (earlier in the season)

If only the Kings could play the Clippers 82 times a year... Mike Bibby would lead the league in scoring...

No kidding

Clippers= Bibby's bitch

We deserve to get are asses kicked by him for picking Olowokandi over him in the draft

Well goddamn. 47 points in the first quarter. I liked the Suns stragedy there. If they are going to play Shaq, then run like psychos and get open. Jeebus....

here's something semi-interesting i picked offa slashdot

Google announced their new video download store today (going head to head with iTunes' video store i guess)

Engadget and BusinessWeek covers Larry Page's talk at CES regarding the much anticipated Google Video Store. The rumours proved to be true and they're really going online with CBS to sell commercial-free episodes of their series. Deals with NBA, Sony BMG and Greencine.com were also announced." From the BusinessWeek article: "The video providers have the option of offering content on a download-to-own or download-to-rent basis. In a sign that content owners will likely pursue different approaches through Google Video, the National Basketball Association will sell broadcasts of its games one day after the event for $3.95. Meanwhile, public television staple Charlie Rose will post his interviews the day after a broadcast, allowing a free streaming for the first 24 hours then making it downloadable afterward for 99 cents each. Meanwhile, CBS is selling episodes of its popular 'CSI' and 'Survivor' series at the standard iTunes price of $1.99 per download."

In other words, free torrents of NBA games will be available the day after the event.

Why would you want a game a day after it ended...unless something freaky happend like Kobe's 62 or someone getting in a fight...which would probably be editted out.

Awesome Game between Lakers and Clippers tonight. Lakers win 112-109

Fucking Kobe made like 4 three point shots in the fourth quarter that god himself couldn't have defended better. Finished with 50 with 40 of them coming in the second half.

Clippers have lost 8 out of 11 and are only 5-9 since Maggette fractured his foot and tonight he confirmed that he will be out 2 months instead of the originally projected 4 weeks. Only if the Clippers can somehow land Artest or the season might be going down the hole.

Shawn Livingston went brain dead in the last few seconds.

bad turnover, put you can't blame him for the last possession. He ran the play to perfection except coach should have realized that a play that takes 5 to 6 seconds to excute isn't helpful when you only got four.

As bad as the Raptors are, they're only 3 games behind Chicago for the eighth and final playoff spot.

Stranger things have happened...
