Gert T Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Bears at Arizona on MNF. Should be a great rating for that stinker.
sfaJack Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Rumors of TO's return to Philly on Christmas Day are false. That game will be in Big D on that day. Ho ho ho...
therealworldschampion Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Schedules are out, the last month for the Eagles is quite brutal: 12. 11/26 -- @ Indianapolis 13. 12/3 -- Carolina 14. 12/10 -- @ Washington 15. 12/17 -- @ New York Giants 16. 12/25 -- @ Dallas (Monday game) 17. 12/31 -- Atlanta At Indy, home against Carolina, 3 division games on the road, then finishing the season at home against Ron Mexico.
Black Lushus Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 I haven't been paying much attention lately, is Marcus Mexico getting any looks? if so, for what insane reason? I'll never understand why teams dick around with guys like him and Maurice Clarrett.

Good Lord that IS brutal. Hopefully it knocks them right out of contention.
tominator89 Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Eagles sign DT Ed Jasper to a one year deal: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2399244 Interesting because this move likely signals Hollis Thomas' departure, and he was included in any potential deal for Javon Walker. And another one comes home for the league minimum.

I'll never understand why teams dick around with guys like him and Maurice Clarrett. If anything, he will be a 2nd day pick. It's ashame he got kicked out of college, he could've been one of the Top QB's of next years draft.

That's the first time I can recall seeing an NFL team scheduled in 3 consecutive road games. Ouch.

Hopefully they can pull through.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 I thought the Eagles were one of the NFL's beloved franchises currently? Why would the NFL intentionally try to fuck them over because of some WR?
Lt. Al Giardello Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 I thought the Eagles were one of the NFL's beloved franchises currently? Why would the NFL intentionally try to fuck them over because of some WR? Because TO = Ratings and Exposure.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 So push the Cowboys as a hot media team. Don't fuck over his former team.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 So push the Cowboys as a hot media team. Don't fuck over his former team. They have to do that in order to make the Cowboys a hot team, since they are in the same divison.
sfaJack Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Before we start bemoaning for the poor, poor Eagles, did anyone notice that the Cowboys play three straight road games at one point as well? As does Houston. And Miami. And the Bears. So that scheduling isn't that uncommon this season for some reason. The NFL isn't trying to purposely screw the Eagles over.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Just so I'm not misunderstood, I'm not saying the Eagles ARE being fucked over, I'm just counterpointing EHME's claim that they were.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 I was just looking for an excuse, I'm just a bitter Eagles fan.

4hartthreat Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 It really is a good looking schedule. Too bad the Pack don't have enough talent to do anything with it.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 Green Bay is in ultimate rebuilding mode. With a QB hanging his retirement/nonretirement over their heads, I don't see the team responding to him as well as in the past, a new coach who I honestly think is a questionable hire, the only team on that schedule that I can see them DEFINITELY beat is San Francisco. Every other game on that schedule can go either way (well except for the games vs Seattle/Philly/NE/etc)

W DEC. 31 at Chicago 1:00 L I slightly disagree with that, I think they can split with the Bears and Vikings, beat the Saints as well as the Pats, as well as possibly Seattle (remember how well Super Bowl teams fare the following season.. good chance the `Hawks might stumble a bit)... Soo 10-6 or 12-4. Last season was an extreme aberration, especially if Favre returns this year.. And I think a lot depends on the coaching staff, as well. I don't know how much more of an improvement McCarthy will be over The Sherm, but as long as he's more aggressive in the second half and the defense continues their improvement from last year, they'll definitely be back to being a playoff contender. Highly doubtful that they'll win any rings or anything, but in reality, there's a tremendous misconception amongst some people about the talent on the team.. The only areas they really need to upgrade are on the interior line and probably receiver because Walker wants out. With a healthy, improving, young squad, this is a better version of the team that had won 3 straight division titles prior to last season's 4-12 debacle. Last year's schedule was much more difficult. I see some hope with this one at least.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 Sorry, VX, that's just a Packers fanboy's fantasy you typed there. No way they finish with a winning record, at all.

USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 And making Boller look like the next Montana... though the Vikings did that too.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 Sorry, VX, that's just a Packers fanboy's fantasy you typed there. No way they finish with a winning record, at all. Okay, so maybe I was exagerrating a bit but I don't think it's out of the question they can finish with a winning record. It's an easyass schedule. They play the Vikings and Lions twice, who are in a similar spot with an unstable/possibly new QB situation and new coaching staffs... New Orleans, St. Louis, Buffalo, the Jets, and San Fran are all possible wins. That's nine games right there, and who knows with teams like Arizona who gets picked as a sleeper damn near every year and perenially disappoint (I doubt that'll happen with Edgerrin James, though) and the Bears, who've blown the last two times they followed up a playoff year (although that's doubtful with Lovie Smith instead of Dick Jauron). What the hell; who can't they beat? When you allow the Raven offense to score like 50 points, you know that shit ain't going to be fixed in a year. Yeah, good point. I'm just hoping parity works in my favor now, for once.
Robert Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 Well, the green and gold goggles always looked good on TSM poster's. Even with a pretty decent schedule, I'm not optimistic at all about this season.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 Favre had a press conference at his charity golf tourney like he does every year, but the media thought he'd announce his decesion. Favre's 1st words were basically "No decision" and reading between the lines he said "The Free agent market is now dried up, we signed a few guys, I dunno if we'll be better. Always room for improvement. Who knows with these guys, we knew with Reggie White." "I may decide this week or it may be another 2 months" was another of his comments. "The guys we draft this year won't help the Packers til long after I'm done"
