Movies that didn't warrant a sequal

Recommended Posts

The one that sticks out for me most was Barbershop. Some of the best characters aren't even in number 2.

like who? only ones I can think of are Keith David, Anthony Anderson and Larenz Tate's brother? did you mean them? Tate and Anderson were kinda insignificant to the movie.

Yeah, Tate and Anderson were two of my favorites... I know they weren't that huge of a deal in the first one, but I held a grudge against them not being in it. Others I talked to felt the same way. I REALLY liked the first one though, the second one was just kinda there and cheapened the first one for the people who hadn't seen it yet.

I didn't like all the segues into Cedric's character's past...they just seemed so odd and unnecessary.

Exactly. I think because Cedric was SO popular in the first one, they wanted to do more with him, but like you said.. it was just extremely strange.

When a Stranger Calls

Just saw a commercial for this. Must they remake EVERY clasic horror movie?

Saying that, I never saw the original. Somebody please spoil the ending for me...

The annoying calls the girl keeps getting are coming from within the house as the killer is calling her using the 2nd phone line.

I've seen a lot of bad sequels, but the worst ones that come to mind are Speed 2 and Son of the Mask.

Oh! How could I forget Son of Mask?!? That one came close to so bad it is somewhat entertaining, but not close enough. Pretty awful. I only saw it because 1) It was free and 2) Dumb and Dumberer wasn't as bad as I expected. That movie may have killed Jamie Kennedy's career (I refuse to say Malibu's Most Wanted did.. it's a guilty pleasure)
