I'm also not surprised Florida lost, looking at their schedule...At least UConn played in a highpowered tournament. This just makes the SEC look even worse, when their top team has lost 2 straight conference games. They better win their next one, or that ranking is going to plummet.

I don't know, LSU may actually be the best team in the SEC. They're off to a 6-0 start in conference including a 14 point win over Tennessee plus a one point loss at UConn and a two point loss at Ohio State. Their game with Florida (in Gainesville) will be interesting.

The answer: Of course U of L isn't back on track.....lost today at Rutgers by 9. Honestly, at this point the NIT is too good for us.

They're in danger of not even qualifying for the Big East tournament now that they're twelfth in the league. With at Nova next, plus at Syracuse, at Uconn, and at WV, this become even more of a disaster for them.

Wisconsin goes down again, this time at Michigan. The Wolverines are on a real roll now that they got their first two big wins and are tied for the lead in that conference.

Nova just pulled one out against Notre Dame thanks to Allan Ray's tip-in off a Randy Foye miss with one second left. Hopefully they've got this less-than-stellar stretch out of them with louisville and UConn coming up. I really wish they had a healthy Curtis Sumpter this year to give them some extra size to deal with teams like UConn though.

One a sidenote, I'm trying to find tickets for Nova-UConn at the Wachovia Center on February 13th, which is gonna be a great game.

Dude, believe me if you ever want to get well U of L is THE team to play at the moment. It's like the blind leading the blind with the Cards right now. If U of L fails to even make the top 12 and go to MSG that might be the biggest embarrassment in the program's history. Ever.

It might sound whiny but we got fucked with the conf. schedule. Home and home with the two best teams (Nova and UConn, and the 3rd being Cincy which is looked on as a rivalry). We should have pulled some kind of win off at home, no doubt. But good grief, Nova and then Pitt, then UConn, with some difficult road trips to St. John's (who has been decent of late) and Rutgers today...and then now looking at road trips to UConn, Nova, Cuse, WVU.

I joked before the season that even a mega conf. like the Big East would have to have some jobbers. Little did I expect U of L to actually BE one of those jobbers.

Wow......OU beat Texas by 10.

I was down on the floor and it was so fucking loud. My partner next to me kept trying to talk to me and I couldn't hear anything he was saying.

I've also never covered a game with that much hoopla. Dickie V was hanging around and so were the Gameday Guys. It was weird.

Any idea why the Big East made their conference schedule that way? Wouldn't it have made more sense to have a 15 game conference schedule where everyone plays every other team once or an 18 game schedule with the three home and home series? A 16 game schedule with three home and homes and no games against two conference teams is really dumb and unbalanced.

LSU better be ranked after this past weekend...

Not that they beat great teams THIS week, but they're undefeated in SEC play along with playing a hard non-conference schedule, with a win over West Virginia and close losses to UCONN, Cincinnati, and Ohio State.

Considering the number of Top 25 losers like 'Cuse and Indy, they better be at least #20.

Where does Michigan go in this weeks rankings. They beat two very good basketball teams, albeit both at home, but they did so without one of their top three players, Lester Abram. You would have to think beating two top 20 teams would be reason enough for them to jump to around #16 or so, correct

One Word, Four Letters: ESPN

The Big East is still under the old contract and they determine the matchups that get on Television, so the whole damn schedule is dictated by that. After the 2007 season, the contract is to be renewed, and I think you will see a BIG change. And it may just be a 16 game schedule (1 Game aganist all 15 teams, each, and a return rivarly game) or the 15 or 18 game schedules you're talking about.

Though unless the NCAA goes to a 30 game regular season, maximum, you may not see an 18 game schedule, because the coaches don't want it.

And for Louisville, I think you're blaming the wrong part of the schedule, cabbageboy. The OOC schedule was beyond pathetic, and I think it didn't prepare them enough for the Big East, escpecially since the roster is so immature. It should've been tougher, IMO.
