Kahran Ramsus Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 This game isn't surprising me in the slightest, and Plummer's meltdown was to be expected by anybody but Broncos fans. 6 for 11 with two turnovers. Seattle/Carolina could really go either way.
CanadianChris Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 We're not talking about the Packers, we're talking about the Broncos You mean the Broncos who beat the Packers last time they were in the Super Bowl?
Guest Vitamin X Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 No, the Broncos that are getting their overrated asses kicked at home in the AFC Championship.
Kahran Ramsus Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 We're not talking about the Packers, we're talking about the Broncos You mean the Broncos who beat the Packers last time they were in the Super Bowl? These aren't the same Broncos.
naiwf Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 We're not talking about the Packers, we're talking about the Broncos You mean the Broncos who beat the Packers last time they were in the Super Bowl? I think he's talking about the Broncos who manage to get raped every year in the postseason since their last SB victory with 18, 31 and 25 point losses, and they may just find a way to lose by more than 31 today.
CanadianChris Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 No, the Broncos that are getting their overrated asses kicked at home in the AFC Championship. It's so funny seeing fans of teams that went 4-12 thinking they can talk any smack at all.
2GOLD Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 The Broncos fans getting a touch defensive. Not surprising, the "Denver sux" line was really stupid. Almost as stupid as running with the ball down by your hip in a position where even Drew Bledsoe says, "that's kinda dumb". Denver can easily get back into this game if Cowher goes conservative and Denver sticks to their gameplan. They do NOT need to pass every down to get back into this game.
CanadianChris Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 I think Cowher's learned his lesson. I don't expect him to runrunrun every down until they get into the fourth. Denver needs to force a turnover or 2 or it's blowout city.

But there is only one stat that matters at the end of the year. There will be 1 Champion and 31 Losers.
Guest Vitamin X Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Why not? I didn't say "my team is better than your team". This isn't about comparison's sake, unless you're talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos. Of which, Pittsburgh is clearly the better team, at least at this point. For that matter, the Packers and Broncos didn't even play this year. Who says they would have won? Probably by shitty luck, just like last week's game vs. the Patriots (or teams like practically all of Green Bay's season).

Honestly, this is all extra credit for me -- going into the season, I didn't even expect Denver to make the playoffs. Certainly not after that season opener against Miami.

"Denver sux" is so 13 year old trash talk though. Be creative or at least not use the AOL speak version. And damn, everything going right for Pittsburgh. It's like Denver used up all their karma last week.
CanadianChris Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 This is going to be a tough punt.
CanadianChris Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 Pittsburgh's withdrawing their entire savings from the karma bank in one year. They've been charmed from around week 12 or so.
Bored Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Assuming Pittsburgh wins, history says Carolina has no chance today since never has there been two wild card teams making it to the Super Bowl, let alone two that won all three playoff games on the road.
CanadianChris Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 Cowher is 101-1 when leading by 11...who the hell comes up with these stats???
CanadianChris Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 That's it. Pittsburgh's destined to win. How do you down consecutive punts inside the 5 like that?
The Robfather Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Delay of game on purpose, great punt, got them backed way up. Feels like I've seen this before.

CanadianChris Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 YES!!! A glimmer of hope...
2GOLD Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 YES!!! A glimmer of hope... Has the Denver pass defense been this miserable all season long? It's like the receivers always have about a five or six yard cushion after 15 yards.
Guest Vitamin X Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Big play by Denver's special teams to get to Pittsburgh's 40 only results in Jake Plummer throwing an interception on the first play from scrimmage. Where's Denver's "wah..wah..waaaah" sound over the PA when you need it?

Maybe they thought Big Ben wouldn't be able to make the throws, but if so, that's a ridiculous assumption. And that's the ball game right there. Jake reminds me of Brett Favre before or after his prime.
Guest Vitamin X Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Brett Favre had a prime? (at least when it comes to talking about throwing INT's..)

Well, they were 29th in pass defense during the regular season, but I think they usually got a lot of turnovers to make up for it. Obviously not today, though.
Guest Vitamin X Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Well this would be a hell of a comeback by Denver if they could get two more scores in the next 7:52.
