Black Lushus Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 is there a way to configure it so that the ads are automatically up whenever you get to each screen? Right now the screen loads and after a moment, the ads pop up, moving everything down a notch...sometimes it throws you off when you want to click on something quick and end up clicking somewhere else...maybe it's just me?
The Man in Blak Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 Probably not - the ad's Javascript, so it probably has to execute each and every time you load the page.
Guest Coffey Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 Yeah, it's goddamn annoying. I was looking for a thread about this yesterday to bitch. Even on broadband, that shit is on delay.
Guest Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 That Webber skin totally eliminates all of the ads.
MrRant Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 Just block them with Firefox if they are doing that to you.
admin Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 I am still trying out many companies for advertising as a way to help support the sites cost. The default skin is the only one, I believe with ads. For now that’s a solution. I may be able to create a DIV and set a static size to prevent that.
Black Lushus Posted January 19, 2006 Author Report Posted January 19, 2006 thanks for the advice, guys!
Guest Coffey Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Jesus Christ. Seriously. Shut off the goddamn ads.
admin Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 The ones up there currently are at least making more than the others. This server cost nearly $100 a month to run, not including my time to maintain it. I will make another attempt to box them in, as the page shifting does get annoying.
