It seems that everytime I'm reading a piece of news that was broke first by The Torch Newsletter there are always more than a few posters who question the validity of the item. "Keller Is making things up again" seems to be a popular phrase among some when finding out The Torch was the source of a particular news story. My question Is has there been a case or cases In the past where The Torch has done this? If not, why all the hate? Just curious.

The Torch is the supermarket tabloid of pro wrestling newsletters. Lots of fluff but almost no real content. Wade Keller is a prick. Most of his staff are almost as bad. The only really good writer at the Torch in the last few years was James Gutman(?), and he had the good sense to leave. If you want news, then go with The Observer. If you want opinions, and don't care too much about quality and content, then go with the Torch.

One that comes to mind is when Keller reported that WWE was dropping affiliation with OVW just to piss off Cornette as they have real life heat.

I'm pretty sure Keller was also the one who said "WWE's gimmick for CM Punk will be as a blind wrestler." or something else lame like that.

Actually, it was a poster posing as Kellar on the ROH Forum that announced that Punk was debuting as a DEAF worker.

And, as a sidepoint, I'd like to point out I'm a loyal subscriber to the Torch and have never had issues with the content
