NoCalMike Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 I know if you have some expensive dvd players, they will play just about anything, but most of my dvd players are just your standard fare. Not cheapies perse, but just not overly expensive. Should I expect them to be able to play .mpg files or .avi files or do I need to convert the file to a certain file type in order to play on standard dvd players?
Black Lushus Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 are you sure your DVD player can support VCDs? if so, you shouldn't have to convert anything from .mpg and .avi format. you should also be able to do .wmv as well.
Carnival Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 In my experience with VCDs the only format that works is mpg or bin/cue.
NoCalMike Posted January 31, 2006 Author Report Posted January 31, 2006 I am pretty sure my dvd player can play VCDs.
Jobber of the Week Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 VCDs are a certain format of MPG. If your file is not already an MPG, use the free TMPGenc to convert it.
