When burning a media file to a VCD

Recommended Posts

I know if you have some expensive dvd players, they will play just about anything, but most of my dvd players are just your standard fare. Not cheapies perse, but just not overly expensive.

Should I expect them to be able to play .mpg files or .avi files or do I need to convert the file to a certain file type in order to play on standard dvd players?

are you sure your DVD player can support VCDs? if so, you shouldn't have to convert anything from .mpg and .avi format. you should also be able to do .wmv as well.

In my experience with VCDs the only format that works is mpg or bin/cue.
