Red Baron 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 So how bout them Habs? They're playing like a Jr. B team out there. I'm pretty sure Rimouski is a better team than the Habs this year.
Guest Report post Posted February 1, 2006 I liked during the broadcast when they had the kid in the booth and Zednik scored, and then the Habs turned around and gave up 2 really quick goals. Watching games in French is weird.
KGB 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 I thought there was something amiss about the calling of that goal when I was watching the highlights.
Guest Report post Posted February 1, 2006 It was pretty funny hearing the kid announce, even though I didn't understand a word he was saying. Ottawa vs New Jersey's tonight, I'm real interested to see if the Devils take the same approach Boston did on Monday.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 I guarantee they don't put 5 past Hasek no matter how they play.
Guest Report post Posted February 1, 2006 Of course they won't. That only happened with Boston because Emery was in net. I'm just interested to see how that trap works with better talent and quicker skaters out there. If Ottawa gets 4 or 5 tonight and completely disproves my notion, I think it's just time for Tampa to hand over the Cup, because nobody would even have an idea of how to stop them. mike546 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Rangers need to absolutley kill the Pens again tonight. That loss to the Flyers was like being stabbed in the heart.

mike546 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 More proof that Mr. Crosby is a whiny bitch. He refused to interview with MSG after the 2nd period tonight, and who the HELL ever does that? He also bitched to the refs after taking a hooking penalty on Rosival. Those "Crosby Sucks" chants in the 3rd period were awesome.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Well, I don't know what to think now. Ottawa's defense was just breaking down like crazy these past two games.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted February 2, 2006 With Ottawa struggling, the Sabres might catch them. Odd stuff.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Well, I don't know what to think now. Ottawa's defense was just breaking down like crazy these past two games. Defence. And I know it's been said ad nauseum, but Buffalo's not this good a team. So more kudos to them. I've always like Briere, actually, and maybe Miller is for real. Huge game for the Smart Markers tomorrow with Boston and Montreal vying for sole of ninth.
Guest Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Buffalo is for real. They've done almost all this without Dumont, they aren't going to get Briere back, Tim Connolly's hurt, Numminen hasn't played well, and they're still going to find a taker on Biron. I think the only way to beat Ottawa is T-R-A-P, so if more teams catch on, we won't be seeing these big blowout games. They need Mike Fisher to keep scoring, he's become a huge part of their success. Secondary scoring's going to be huge in the playoffs and they have it, I just don't know if Volchenkov and Mezaros are ready to step up and play a big role. Regarding New Jersey, at least they can score and go up and down the ice now. Trapping and 2-1 scores every game was starting to get boring. I think Gionta's their X factor. Guest Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Trade: Steve Reinprecht and Philippe Sauve to Phoenix for Mike LeClerc and Brian Boucher. I think Calgary gets the best of this one.

They are getting Breire back. He had the same surgery that Dumont did...and he'll be back before the playoffs. Around the same time as Connelly I'd guess. But, yes...they've played most of the season without their best player (Briere) one of their top 5 players (Dumont) and 2 of their "top" defensemen haven't been all that good (Kalinan sucks...and he was supposed to pick of the slack from losing Zhitnik. and Numminen has been alright in an "he's old and doesn't make mistakes" kind of way.) Oh yeah...and they lost their best goalie for a long stretch too. How Biron managed to win 13 in a row is the mystery that'll get us into the playoffs for the first time in a long time. I don't think it's that uncommon for a player to refuse the interview request. It IS unusual for a rookie to do so, but methinks most rookies don't get the same number of requests as Crosby. The bitching at the refs ... yeah, I'll give you that, Crosby does that WAY too much. But I can't agree that he's a bitch for not wanting to do the intermission interview. treble 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Isn't Crosby sick? Maybe he just wanted to rest instead of having the same old 'we're playing well/we're not playing well' interview that all players give.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Most 18 year olds do bitch about anything. Go to a minor league game and its pretty much the same thing. Though I agree that someone needs to level him pretty good. Kot909: I would call it the smartest move by Calgary getting rid of Reinprecht. They're deffinitly going to miss his presence through the playoffs.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Does anyone know any good hockey forums that talk a lot about the juniors, especially OHL?

LeClerc is a Sutter type guy, he'll fit in perfectly.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Leclerec will fit in nicely, but at the cost of a good face-off player like Reinprecht. Though if Kipper goes down with an injury, I'd be confident in Boucher.

Guest Report post Posted February 2, 2006 If Foppa misses the games too, Sweden can kiss all gold medal hopes goodbye. I think they can still win it without Naslund, but they'll need luck. And yeah, Roenick's back in the lineup tonight.
Guest Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Does anyone know any good hockey forums that talk a lot about the juniors, especially OHL? hfboards.com is probably the best bet, but they do have server issues sometimes. It's a HUGE online community and Dogbert recommended me to it. I love that place.

Owen Nolan is ready for a return, but no takers on his contract. Florida likes players who are about to retire. They allready have Joe Neiwendyk and Gary Roberts, so ya they can be the Snowbird line for all I care. And when the next time they do play against Toronto, they'll probably light up for eight points against them.
Guest Report post Posted February 2, 2006 I still think Florida can make a run toward the playoffs. They've got the talent as long as they don't trade anyone. They'll need help though. They have Stumpel, so I'd rather not see them get in.

treble 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 You spoke too soon. And Crosby's not even playing tonight, so I'm sure him being sick had more to do with him refusing the interview request than him being supposedly being a dickhead did.
