Anyone else hate watching the Buffalo broadcasts with Rick Janneret (sp?)? That guy is the single biggest homer in the league. Whenever Buffalo scores, he has a fucking coronary. I do like that whenever there's a fight, that he actually gives boxing type commentary.

You're out of your mind.

Jeanerret is awesome.

You have to understand that he isn't just the TV play by play guy...he calls the games for Radio as well.

He is so good at getting accross the excitement and emotion of the game when you are stuck listening to the radio. And since I'm stuck at work...it's phenomenal.

Plus...he isn't a national guy...he's a local guy. He should yell SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOREEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS....everytime we do. Because it's exciting to 90% of the people watching...and 100% of the people listening.

Besides...in between Sabres goals...he is really great at breaking down the action.

BPS is correct. Even as myself who is not a Sabres fan, but listening to him on the radio is great. He does the best of analyzing all the game breaking it down the rules and explanations to the common fan. Sure it can get annoying if your not a Sabres fan, but I mean for a local guy he's more pleasing than say Harry Neale.

Apparently Montreal won yesterday 2-0 against the Bruins.

This is probably the first time in team history that they have not let in a goal.

No, he's awful.

Watching him calling that shootout last night was painful. So Miller stopped a shot, no need to have an orgasm about it.

MILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLER. I wanted someone to shoot him.

I didn't know he did radio. Now I don't have so much of a problem with it.

John Davidson is probably my favorite guy in the booth, followed by Hughson during HNIC and Bob Miller. That JP Dellacamera in Atlanta who also calls the World Cup, he's really good too.

Hughson would be my favourite if he wasn't so goddamn biased towards the Canucks. Watch the late HNIC game if it doesn't involve Vancouver and listen to how bored he and Millen sound.

I can't stand Hughson on the RSN broadcasts, but on HNIC he's much different. His voice is unique too, that helps.

Paul Romanuck and Gary Green during the 90's with TSN were the best PBP/Colour Combo ever in hockey history.

I don't see why Corpse is upset about Hughston with the Oilers call, I mean last night they were bored because the pace of the game sucked.

Emrick's voice is good, and he picks the perfect times to show lots of emotion. Emrick's real knowledgeable, at least that's how he comes off. Baron's right, the only reason everyone at Rexall Place including the announcers was bored last night was because that game sucked.

Something about Hugson bugs me, not sure what.

The fact that he calls all of the EA NHL games weirds me out.

The Leaf radio broadcasters are so horribly biased, it's unlistenable. During a Leafs v. Caps game they felt like the Caps were getting way too many powerplays so the guy yelled to the Leafs:

PUT ON YOUR SWIM TRUNKS AND START DIVING!

Joe Bowen.

And I didn't used to think he was so bad. I don't know what was wrong with me.

Dennis Beyak is a lot better, even if he's a homer, too.

Don "Just watch me" Waddell has guaranteed a playoff spot for the Thrashers.

This is the same guy who passed over Ryan Miller, much to the chagrin of the fans chatning USA at him when Atlanta was in town on Tuesday.

RedBaron and I will be doing a half-year review, probably posted by Tuesday or Wednesday.

We won't do it while drunk, as we did for our college paper one year ago. I should post that link, there's at least five or six grammar/spelling errors no one seemed to notice.

Barron, have you heard that spot for the Jennaerat alarm clock on 103.3 Edge from Buffalo?

WAAAAAAAAAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GET OUTTA BED!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does everyone think is the top line right now in the NHL? Obviously you have Alfredson/Spezza/Heatley but with Ottowa struggling right now, there are some other great lines. You've got Jagr/Nylander/Straka doing their Euro posse puck control stuff in NY, Savard/Kovalchuk/Hossa in Atlanta putting up a shitload of points, and Gagne/Forsberg/Knuble is also deadly when healthy.

The Savard/Kovalchuk/Hossa line is not getting any love.

Sorry the Rangers line is not deadly Mike. Nylander and Straka aren't that great of players when they try to carry a line by istelf.

BTW, who's watching the Habs dominating today against Phili? Hopefully this is a wake-up call and Huet is amazing.

When healthy, the best line is Gagne/Forsberg/Knuble, but I think that Detroit's top 2 lines could be thrown in there. Kovalchuk/Savard/Hossa is great too, but they get split up too much for me to consider them.

I think the Spezza, Heatley, Alfredson line, when healthy this year has been head and shoulders above any other line in the league.

I know this isn't the clearest indication, but they have combined for 201 points in 139 games played between them.

For comparison sake, Forsberg, Knuble, Gagne have combined for 169 points in 144 games.

I don't really know how you can compare the two. With S-H-A, if you are left with any 2 of the 3, you still have a good line. Take out Forsberg and that line sucks.

Mike Knuble is nowhere on the same level as Spezza, Heatley, Alfreddson, Forsberg or Gagne, and as a result, I'm not sure how you can call them the best line in the league.

I think that's more because of the lack of depth on the Sens, but to each their own. Also remember that the Sens defenseman have been healthy all season, and they are for the most part much better passers than Rathje, Meyer and Hatcher. Desjardins and Pitkanen have missed a ton of time. Just look at the power play for the Sens, that's the best in the East (I won't say league, because that's Detroit regardless of what any stats would say, and I know that Detroit's probably 1st in the league), where with Philadelphia they've had guys in and out of the lineup everywhere. Knuble's good with guys like Forsberg and Thornton, which shouldn't be a slight against him. He's a power forward, those guys get less points.

Any line with Thornton on it gets almost instant mention. He alone can make good players (Murray, Cheechoo more so) look like stars.

On a side note, I've really started to hate Thornton since he came to the Sharks. I don't know why it is, but he's been playing really dirty as of late. He may have played that way in Boston too, I just never noticed.
