there's no way the theater WON'T be packed with loud obnoxious idiots, from opening night to the last showing. So, I'll wait for DVD or the arthouse theaters to pick it up

I feel the same way about, well, every movie anymore.

Saw it this weekend and was very underwhelmed. Part of that was I'm not a fan of rap but the movie was mostly unentertaining as a whole.

That said, the "Hit me" bit was gold and I got a kick of the guitarist looking like a dead-ringer for The Office's Dwight Schrute.

I caught it Friday morning, I guess I was there for like the first showing. There were not too many people there. Probably about 15 at most. Two people walked out early on when they figured it was going to be mostly concert stuff. It was two teenage skater guys, who I were surprised were even there, despite hearing them discuss going to the movie on the cell phone while they were at the urinal.

Part of the highlight for me wasn't so much the movie, but this trio of wiggers that were right near me. It was serious two fat white teenager guys dressed like they wanted to sneak into a rap video and a big girl their age too. They were hollering and dancing during the movie. I was embarrased for them, but it really added to the experience.

Overall in terms of the movie, I enjoyed it, not sure if I'd see it again. Plus, I think I'd be missing out with those kids who will be shot when they try to go to a tough neighborhood.

well, stuff in the arthouse type theater here is usually either not that full or the people are quiet throughout, and stuff like Ice Harvest doesn't get a lot of business here.

The movie was pretty good. It really was just a concert with little funny stuff thrown here and there. If you're wondering where all the good hip hop music is, go watch this movie. Chappelle was hilarious in his bits, especially his prostitute joke, and his free styling.

I saw it, and it was pretty good. It was a mixed audience at the theatre I went to. It felt like I was at the concert cause I was quietly singing along, most people that did perform I got their albums. If your not a rap fan or believe that rapper aren't musicians this will prove you wrong.

I thought it was funny when Fred Hampton Jr came to the stage, raising the fist doing the "Power to the people" stuff and white band member raising his fist and the air. I thought that was lost on white audience in the theatre and the Dead Prez segment and ?uestlove calling Jill Scott a "Beast" heard a lot of laughter from them, must of thought he was talking about her physical appearance.

I've got a Chappelle's Show question:

I've heard that Chappelle did a skit on one of his shows where he says something like, "I wish I had four hands, so I can give those titties four thumbs down," or something to that effect...

My question is: what was the name of that skit, and what was the name of the character Chappelle was portraying in it?

Answer: I'm Rick James, bitch!

Who performed?

Kanye West, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common (sorta), The Fugees reunited with Lauren Hill, Dead Prez, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, The Roots, John Legend, and Big Daddy Kane. Might have missed a few.

You forgot Kool G Rap made token appearance along with BDK, they did that set with the Roots. Central State marching show band a college from Ohio did the parade. I wanted Common to do solo set with his songs and interview, but he didn't have neither, he just did his spots on other songs that he was featured on. No interview from Kweli either. Best part of the movie when the Fugees got back together and performed.

That was pretty ironic when Lauren Hill was like "Where have ya'll been". She was asking for it, although she had a great answer.
