Guest Cactus Report post Posted February 15, 2006 Alright, so I bought a new gamecube again because I couldn't take not playing my games I had. (About this time two years ago my Cube and Xbox both died in a flood.) Anyways, so with that said I found a good deal on one and bought it...now I'm looking for a good RPG and it's come down to two. Tales of Symphonia or Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance I have read reviews and all, but I always like to get other people's opinions. Keep in mind price does not matter in this situation, I already have Paper Mario, and I like any type of RPG so something like F.E. being a strategy game doesn't bother me. Thanks for any help
BHK 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2006 Skies of Arcadia Legends.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2006 Skies is great, Paper Mario was amazing, Fire Emblem, I traded in before opening. Tales of Symphonia, however, I preordered and acquired when it was released in July 2004. I don't know what drew me to the game, but let's just say I'm still playing it. It's the best RPG I've ever played (although I've only played them for a few years), and one of the top 3 games I've played in my 19 years as a gamer. The graphics are a gorgeous anime style, and the real time battle system is so much fun. Some people say the story is cliched, but I loved it, and I really cared deeply about the storyline and the characters themselves. Tales is only $20, so maybe you can get one of the other games along with it. Tales of Symphonia is the best game I've ever played for the GameCube.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted February 15, 2006 SoA is better on Dreamcast, anyway.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2006 I've never liked Fire Emblem, and Symphonia's very good. Go for ToS.
stahl 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2006 Get both. Fire Emblem is a strategy RPG though so if you've never played one it might be hit or miss. All tales games are usually great.
BHK 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 SoA is better on Dreamcast, anyway. Agreed, but I wasn't sure if he had a Dreamcast. Also I'd think a Dreamcast copy would be a bit on the expensive side these days.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted February 16, 2006 Nah, it still goes for less than $10. Although, I am surprised that DC games are gaining value. Too bad I pirated most of mine.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 Tales of Symphonia is the one you want to get first. Good, deep role playing. The only reason why I traded it in is because I'm not big on the RPG's and wanted an action game. I haven't heard a bad thing about Fire Emblem through. Skies of Arcadia is also a good one to get. Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 Grandia 2 is the RPG that's better on the Dreamcast. All I heard is the GC Skies is improved over the original.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 Grandia 2 DC vs. PS2-- the main issue is load times, which are abysmal on PS2. Skies is improved on GC, but not drastically so.
