Guest nokia Report post Posted February 26, 2006 This is from Dave Meltzer's mailbag; "One of the most underreported stories of the year is eric bischoffs status with wwe. Eric is a terrific tv character, and I can't imagine they would release him because TNa would snap him up in a heartbeat for credibility. What is erics status with wwe? ANd IS he really writing a book about his life in wrestling? john lowenstein DM: I believe he's still under contract, but not going to be renewed. I don't think Bischoff would go to TNA, but you'd never know for sure. * Dave thinks that Bishoff is GONE from wwe soon it seems
Guest Fook Report post Posted February 26, 2006 They should bring Bischoff back on tv. If not as a GM, then as a manager for someone. He has a great heel presence and can easily talk for those who can't. Not using him or letting him go without a fight would be stupid.
RedJed 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 They're missing the boat on a ready made and so obvious it might actually work storyline there where he is an invading manager trying to interfere on shows and recruit people into a rogue stable rebelling against the company for fucking up their on-air usage, etc. Of course it would be all just heels but think of the dymanic of that in the current WWE in incorporating that into a storyline. Fuck, even if it just led to something moronic like Vince v. Bisch at least they said they actually booked the obvious feud with those two for an actual program and got the most they could out of Bischoff so he actually had a point to be there for as long as he was. Otherwise it was just pure ego and pathetic "thinking inside the box" bravado dictating the finish to his WWE run there. I figured it was a lock Bischoff was going to show up sooner or later here in that role, guess not. Wonder if when he's done in WWE, if he's even going to bother with wrestling anymore? 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Vince got what he wanted out of Eric. He berated him on national television and had his future star finish him off. Why would he sign him to a new deal?
Downhome 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Not to mention the way that it was done. Wasn't Vince tossing him into a trash truck the last thing we ever saw of him? I fully believe that what we saw that night was the entire reason that he was signed to start with. It's the same reason they don't do anything hardly with ECW, and why in my opinion they purposely allowed the Invasion angle to fail. Vince doesn't want ECW or WCW to actually be a success since he didn't create them, and they sure as hell wanted Bishoff to look like a total moron in the end. iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 I enjoy Bischoff as an on-screen personality, definately. I think letting him go wouldn't surprise me, but I definately think they could do more with him.

chaosrage 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Letting him go makes no sense, he's a great talker, so this is no surprise.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Eric Bishoff as the head of the championship committee in TNA would make alot of dollars & sense.
Guest Andrew J. Report post Posted February 26, 2006 I liked Bischoff, but after more than 3 years in the same role he got a bit stale. I can't say I've missed him terribly.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Bisch was at his best early on. He was such a total sleeze that he was consistently entertaining. Hell, when he showed up SD in the crowd, he was being cheered, and the crowd went nuts during the Billy/Chuck wedding when Steph got attacked by 3MW. ...and then he got his balls chopped off and became a tolerable, but dull heel. However, with him gone I'd rather they either forget about naming a GM, or any GM named would just show up once in a while rather then several time per show. buffybeast 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 What good is he? Sure, it was great when he first came to WWE as it added some flavor and dimension. But now, what does he add that the company needs right now? I saw let him go and use his salary for someone else, like bringing back Albert.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Didn't care when he was on the show, didn't notice he had been off the show the past few months, don't really care about his future.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Bischoff is a horrible, 90's, boring, stereotypical "boss vs. face" character. The fact that nobody has missed or noticed his absence proves this. Stay away.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Easy E early on was awesome. Great character, he really came off like his WCW self. The ultimate asshole. Sorry, but Eric was and will always be a better asshole than Vince when it comes to television characters. Eric used to react to the crowd with that smile and point while they were booing his ass off. I loved that. Near the end, he just started to suck. One minute the writers had him helping good guys, then helping bad guys but nothing about him showed him to be a tweener. He was just floating in limbo till Vince could get his ego trip out of the way. Rather have him than Vince. Damn shame.
4hartthreat 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Eric was one of the best heels on the roster. I guess that meant it was only a matter of time before tHHHis HHHappened to HHHim.....

The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 I liked Bischoff, but after more than 3 years in the same role he got a bit stale. I can't say I've missed him terribly. I don't think that's entirely fair.... 1. He brought stability to the Raw brand while Smackdown went through a parade of GMs. 2. When he first came in, he was a pretty dynamic character instead of the generic heel boss. Eventually, he devolved into that, and I think that is more the writers' fault than Bischoff's. After the first Taboo Tuesday, it seemed like he was getting back into that tweener role, but they pulled the plug on it before people even bought into it, which was a shame. I guess what I'm most disappointed about was how after multiple times of Bischoff dodging the bullet of Vince threatening to replace him throughout his tenure, it finally happened. Then after weeks of vignettes with Vince interviewing new candidates for the job, the whole angle was just scrapped without explanation. I'm guessing once the Vince/Shawn thing plays out at WM, Vince will come out in the next night and resume the search for the next GM, but unless Bischoff shows up to screw over Vince at WM, the whole thing is blown at this point. Enigma 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Bischoff would be a good manager for a reformed 3 Minute Warning.
Celtic Jobber 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 I never liked him, he was an annoying character and was a constant reminder of the shitty WCW.

Si82 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Well this fucking sucks. I'm a big fan of Bischoff. I think he did the best job he could in the time he has been with WWE. He was awesome when they first brought him in as the sleazy GM and then the angle in Feburary 2003 when he has 30 days to turn around Raw by bringing back Steve Austin. However, once they brought Austin in as CO-GM he was just made to look like a fucking moron. At least something different was tried with him in winter 2004 when he was more of a tweener. It's a damn shame that Eric's last appearance on WWE TV being thrown in the trash by John Cena. I hope Eric isn't done with wrestling because I still think he could do well with a run in TNA. He's gotta be better than Larry Z.
CheesalaIsGood 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 I'm no Easy E fan. But Bish did his job really well while he was on RAW. Seeing him in a manager role would be fresh AND help out somebody who isn't that strong on the mic. This is coming from a anti-WCW bigot, but hey if it'll work it'll WORK! PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 It's a shame, not just because I like him, but because the WWE assumes there absolutely HAS to be a GM/commissioner/brand owner/sheriff or whatever these days, so they're definitely going to have someone else in the same role, and I can't think of anyone who'd be any good right now. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 I really liked him as a tweener. Other than that, I hope to see him in TNA if his contract isn't renewed. Wouldn't work, don't have time for him to be effective. I was really hoping he'd come out with three minute warning and break up the kiss my ass club. Woulda been great. Toxxic 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 I agree. Tweener Bischoff was interesting, and a pleasant change from the god-awful biased face/heel GM characters.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 I'm fine with Bischoff. I really don't want Dusty to be the GM... Unless they take a chance and make him a heel GM. At least then it would be something different for his character.
