Never say "I'm surprised I've gotten three and a half years out of this, I just hope it doesn't die all of a sudden!" 'cuz then it will in like seven hours

What I've salvaged

Frank Zappa

Tom Waits

Pink Floyd

Camper Van Beethoven

The Arcade Fire

Broken Social Scene

Miles Davis

U2

The Beach Boys

The Beatles

Polyphonic Spree

Faust

Radiohead

Wilco

Dave Brubeck

Waiting for the Moon

other stuff hang on a sec

What I probably lost

Fountains of Wayne

Guster

Kraftwerk

Can

Neu!

Led Zeppelin

All the other Tindersticks albums

An assortment of classic rock shit that I used to like

The Smiths

So actually when I write it all out, I only lost like 40 albums or so out of 130 after scrounging for all my backups and stuff. That's not the worst, but a minor inconvenience nonetheless. No "Hallogallo" to chill out to. I'm taking it in to Best Buy to see if they can retrieve the hard drive, but I have a bad feeling it's gone. Out of nowhere it just stopped turning on and only kinda hums and sputters for a few seconds before shutting off. So we'll see. If I haven't alienated you with my asshole behavior, I won't stop you from firing up the old yousendit

Actually, the Smiths you donated to me was part of a project in which I donated the Smiths to my friend, so I just have to kindly ask her to lend me the data CD I gave her that has the whole back catalogue

And if she refuses?

No, that's just the sound of all your sperm screaming and dying due to having an overheated laptop on your lap

Czech, I can point you in the direction of a few webpages that have all sorts of Grateful Dead shows for legal download.

No need to thank me.

Archive.org

Archive.org (Phil Lesh and Friends)

Nugs.net's free stash(GD and other related projects plus other stuff)

Deadboots

Deadshow.org

Sugarmegs(all kinds of stuff, including GD, Dead, and a lot more)

GDLive.com

Philzone.com's stuff(All Lesh, of course)

I make no claim as to how legal anything not on archive.org is, nor do I say they're all good quality. If you need a soundboard that used to be on archive.org, I might be able to help you there, I got some. Hope it helps.

MMoM, I'll give you one caveat: Czech hates the Grateful Dead, along with most other 'jam bands'. I was being very sarcastic when I offered to provide him links to Dead Shows. I'll probably end up grabbing a bunch of shows from some of those links, though. I use archive & nugs (I'm actually listening to Phish from 1995 NYE as I type this) but a couple of the other links are new to me.

As long as I can help somone, I'm happy I put them up. If you're a jazz fan at all, grab the Coltrane show on Sugarmegs, clear as can be, just perfect, it's 41 minutes and I think it's all working around "My Favorite Things"

I'll definitely check out the Coltrane. I've been doing "Jazz Sunday Brunch" with an ex-gf of mine, and am already running out of good jazz on my iPod. Anything new that I can add to the mix is going to help break up the monotony.

It's WMA, if IPods can't handle that and you don't know how to convert it, let me know and I'll send you my mp3 of it

I'm pretty sure iPod's can convert the WMA to an iPod playable format ... I'm not 100% certain though. If it doesn't work, I'll most assuredly hit you up for an mp3.

(and it looks like you & I teamed up on a good threadjack of Czech's mp3 crisis thread)

Man, I never call something gay. If Czech isn't ashamed, he should be.

The rest of you wingnuts aren't helping. The "Professional Otaku" now appears along with a picture that makes me think of jam music. Peachy.

Which? Osaka looking stoned(she's not, she's just...Osaka if you ever watch Azumanga Daioh you'll know what I mean) or the picture of Jerry Garcia?

I don't think Kotz will be watching Azumab... Azurama... that show anytime soon

Azumanga Daioh

ADV stuff

Wonderland, a great fan site

Sorry 'bout the hijacking

Hey Masked Man. Have you seen this thread?

That's a pretty lame reason to be calling me the biggest dork.
