Guest Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 No shit they were going to lose, it's damn near impossible to play good enough to win every game. Why the fuck do you guys think baseball has seven game series? I mean, goodness, that's the appeal of the game, is that anything can happen on any given day. Part of the appeal of baseball is that this game's not over yet, as we've seen many times.
2GOLD Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Huge chance for USA. They have gotten into the Canada pen and the bases are loaded with two outs in the 5th. The USA offense has come to life, grand slam Varitek.
jwpeer Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 What amazes me is that if it weren't for Harden, Gagne, and Dempster, canada would have EXCELLENT pitching as well. Those three players would make them a serious contender, too bad they couldn't play.
jwpeer Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Varitek with an f'in grand slam?!?!?! holy shiat
Guest Smues Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Grand slam Jason Veritek holy shit. 8-6 Canada.
naiwf Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Leave it to the BoSox captain to get the Americans back into it. I still want to see a Yankee strike out with the game on the line though.
Urban Warfare Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Fuck. I never really cared about baseball, but if we manage to beat the US, it will be huge. On the reverse side, when (not if) the US comes back to beat us, it will be the "What a comeback" shit, even though you guys shouldn't even be in this situation.
Guest Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Part of the appeal of baseball is that this game's not over yet, as we've seen many times. Ummmm........ Now, how the fuck do I post that, then Varitek gets a slam?
jwpeer Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I just wish this damn game had STARTED at 5/6 est so I could have caught more of it, sucks to start watching in the 5th inning
2GOLD Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Leave it to the BoSox captain to get the Americans back into it. I still want to see a Yankee strike out with the game on the line though. As long as it's not A-Rod. I'm really tired of the "A-Rod makes teams lose" bull from some fans. And this puts Team USA in the next round. I cannot see them struggling against South Africa and they will probably get a few more runs here.

The ONLY thing better than A-Rod striking out with the bases loaded to end the game would be Jeter or Damon getting gunned down at home trying to tie it up.
Brett Favre Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I'd like to see Jeter dive over the stands for the game winning put out, and have Sportcenter replay that shit till Opening Day. That would be better.
CanadianChris Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Shit, the Americans are just crushing the ball against the Canadian 'pen. If they stop hitting it right at people, they're going to win this game.
naiwf Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I'd like to see Jeter dive over the stands for the game winning put out, and have Sportcenter replay that shit till Opening Day. That would be better. Blasphemer, how can you live in Queens and root for the Yankees? You disgust me!

That would be better. I hate the Yanks as much as the next guy, but I'd rather have A-Rod do it. That would be better.

Higher than you may think.

That would be better. I hate the Yanks as much as the next guy, but I'd rather have A-Rod do it. That would be better. Come on. A-Rod wouldn't dive into the stands for the last out in the 7th game of a World Series, there's no way he'd risk chipping his highly manicured nails to secure an opening round game at the WBC.
2GOLD Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Can we have one god damn baseball thread that DOESN'T turn into Red Sox vs the Yankees?? God, we have to deal with that bull all season. I did the A-Rod because he has taken blame in Seattle, Texas and even in his new Yankee uniform. For one stupid baseball thread, screw the Red Sox and the Yankees.
Brett Favre Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I said Varitek was a real American. That is all. You can't deny USA-Rod though.

jwpeer Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 He was safe by a good two steps, that was a poor call
naiwf Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Actually, I think this is a Mets/Yankees thing. A-Rod striking out would leave Yankee fans really bitter for the rest of the week and that's a good thing for those of us who listen to WFAN. Half of the Yankee fans in the city wanted him traded at the end of last year so he doesn't get a break anywhere he goes.
Brett Favre Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Those are the dumbass Yankee fans, but whatever. Back to the game. Who's up this inning?
jwpeer Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Weird move to take Bay out right before he's going to bat again next inning, wonder if he's hurt :(
naiwf Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I don't think we're coming back to win this game unless Canada chokes it up in the last 2 innings now that Varitek and Griffey are out.
Brett Favre Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Huge play. Justin Morneau is on the team? Damn.
naiwf Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I guess the Canadians don't know that you shouldn't run on Francoeur.
jwpeer Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Bay would have scored that run, much faster than the lumbering radmanovich (Doesn't that guy play basketball for the clippers! ;p)
Guest Smues Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I love Francoeur. Having him for a full season this year in Atlanta should be great.
