Guest NYankees Report post Posted March 11, 2006 I know fye buys back dvd's and cd's but are there any other places? I went with the ebay route but not enough bidding and not worth all the trouble for maybe 2 dollars per each dvd. Does anybody know of any good locations and how much am I looking at getting back per dvd and cd?
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2006 Depending on where you live there might be some more local chains that we haven't heard of. Shop around your area and record the prices you're offered for a number of CDs and DVDs. Once you do this once you won't have to worry about finding the right places again. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2006 Always go to your local indy record store. They will take anything and usually give you a fair deal.

Ebay kinda blows, go to half.com (which is owned by eBay but you just essentially put your things up for sale there and they'll sell eventually) or amazon.com's marketplace. Guest NYankees Report post Posted March 12, 2006 Matrix, Matrix Reloaded, Animatrix, all 3 Austin Power Movies, Day after Tommorow, Bourne Identity and Supremecy, animated versions of LOTR and the Hobbit, the Abyss, Terminator 2 and 3, Signs, How the grinch stole christmas (Jim Carrey edition), Once upon a time in the west and A Cinderella story. I am also thinking of selling Wedding Crashers and the 40 year old virgin. Everything is used but watched only once or twice and in mint condition.
yankovic fan 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2006 Amazon is wonderful. They hook you up with a set shipping price, so if you work it right, you can mail it for a lot less than what they paid for.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2006 we have a few CD Tradeposts around here, which is a Midwest chain, I believe. as far as "local shops", Homers gives out good cash. so, yeah, just search locally if you don't feel like dealing on the net. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 I tried to sell a bunch of my old CDs I haven't listened to in years (or just bought on a whim or got as gifts and fucking hated) tonight to Strawberries. They only took the ones that I moderately enjoyed for one reason or another. The fucking bastards. Clerk: "They're too scratched." Me: "I bought them, like, 3 years ago. I've listened to them a handful of times. How are they too scratched?" Clerk: "Look, there's scratches on them." Me: "...those are fibers from the CD wallet. Look, I'll blow them off." **I blow them off** Clerk: "Sorry, we can't take them. Strict exchange policy." Me: "...eat shit, Chris." Yeah, I've known the clerk for years. Still couldn't take the CDs that I really wanted to get rid of. So it looks like my girlfriend's father, a pistol enthusiast who lives above the Milford Rod and Gun Club in Milford, MA, has some new targets.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted March 15, 2006 What is a good cheap way to ship a dvd? Half.com only gives like 2 dollars for shipping and handling for a sale.

kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 I tried to sell a bunch of my old CDs I haven't listened to in years (or just bought on a whim or got as gifts and fucking hated) tonight to Strawberries... Years ago I bought a used PS1 "Diablo" from this store in the Dayton Mall (I forget its name). I played it for 1-2 nights, realized how horrible it was (when compared to the PC version) and went to sell it back. I wasn't looking for a refund -- I just wanted to sell it back for a few dollars. I went to the SAME STORE, and the clerk said they couldn't buy it because it was too scratched up. When I showed him the receipt that proved I bought the damn thing from this store the day before, he just gave me a "derp" look.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 Yeah. It's bullshit. I've bought CDs - USED - that were more scratched up than the ones I tried to sell back. It's crap.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 My local chain buys anything, stratched or not. They don't sell them, if they are stratched. They are pretty anal about the whole no-selling stratched used dvd's/cd's. I brought one DVD, opened it in the car and noticed it had a few stratches and walked back inside. What did they do? Took the stratched version of the DVD, laid it down and wiped it down. The guy at the desk went to the back and handed me a new version of the movie I brought and said "no charge. take care". That's fucking service right there.
