NYU 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 This is only because it's been nearly three hours since the show was posted and nobody's put up a feedback thread yet. If time permits, I'll include my thoughts tomorrow. But everyone else, do it right this very second.
Papacita 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Only had a chance to skim the show, but I just wanted to point out that I really dug Drek's segment. Good shit. If time permits, I'll try to squeeze in some detailed feedback sometime before 2008.
Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 “Oh poopie” is my line, Matthews. Time to recognize it. I doubt that's the last time Alf and Reject will ever meet in a singles bout. So that match was a nice teaser of what's to come. Alf and KingPK did a decent job of tying the TK/Reject feud into their world title battle. Now the feedback/observations is going to be stupid outta order. Dig it hard. The Cowell movement? That name's big pimpin on b-l-a-d's. Actually all the D*Lux names are pretty gnarly despite what that Debbie Downer Caboose may spit. Yay KC! When I asked if he could do a promo announcing the COD/CW&Bo AM match, I was just expecting a little one paragraph Wright segment where CW states the match had been made. But KC blew me away and I didn't even have to blow him for the service. You wrote Krista perfectly, which kinda shocked me because you once told me she was harder to write. The Kimmy Simpkins story had me acting a fool. Hilarious. This color kid really enjoyed the interplay between Coach, O'Hara, Bo and Wright. The Upstarts don't really do much interacting with each other, they're just sort of segmented off into pairs (Axel/PK, GPX, Wright/Bo) so it was refreshing to have them work together a bit more. I had totally forgotten I created a character named Melody Nerdly until that segment reminded me. I read that skit and I was like “Who the fuck is this Melody chick?” then I remembered. She might never have appeared again if wasn't for KC. Anyway ab-fab segment, 90000000 times better then anything I could've done. Pretty solid GPX promo. They're such a tight unit that, despite their remarks, I wonder how they'll actually handle having to thwack each other with ladders. Could this AM match be the beginning of the end of GPX? Who knows? The shadow knows... EWC writes an underrated promo. He's been able to create unique personalities for about a dozen or so characters, which speaks to his ability to generate different traits and nuances. What was that “image hosted by tripod” picture supposed to be? Don't leave me in suspense you homophobic redneck cocksuckers. I'll kill all your families. I really did enjoy the Drek promo. I liked how he expressed disdain for the accolades Black T has received for their role in the OAOAST, while he himself has been snubbed and almost written out of history. As for the whole quasi-shoot deal about Zack, it was incredibly well written as all things NYU are, but I was kinda hoping those two would somehow be able to communicate their issues with the other in private and works things out. But that's obviously never gonna happen. So now that NYU/Drek has finally been given an opportunity to speak his peace they'll hopefully either patch things up and have cybersex or they'll just act like the other doesn't exist. If you do have cybersex, be sure to send me a transcript, pimpin'! Tony already knows what I thought about the Lolly (his tooooo cute nickname for Logan and Holly) promo. He didn't really like it, but I loved it. L-o L-o, L-o,L-o-v-e! I'm talking about love! And who's this Patrick O'Green fellow that was referenced? He sounds like one sexy little bitch! Tony149 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 I'll start with the much anticipated Drek Stone interview. I for one thought it was awesome. It wasn't the all out verbal smackdown that it could've been -- and perhaps expected. Stone got what he had to say across without stepping over the line and turning the segment into a WCW circa 2000 "shoot promo." The Champ wants a challenge. And boy did he get one. Big way to start the show, with the Alf-PK build up really heating up now that AM nears closer. All the PR Appreciation stuff was fine, but I couldn't help but think it's been done before. I know we've had a couple, but I can't remember if one involved PR. Digged the GPX promo. Two ladder matches in one night. We'll probably end up making that work better than TNA does their all cage PPV. Hell yes! Los Conquistadors return! Loved the squash, especially the opening bit with Uno rolling through just for the hell of it. The names of D*LUX's moveset is awesome, btw. OMG! The Intruders are back! Coming up next: lots of talking! But KC did a much better job than I did. Patty must be a proud papa because KC treated his girls well. Instead of trying anything funny he wrote the funny. at Krista's line about talking more than wrestling. That can be said for a lot of people. And I marked for the Don't Step to Ron reference! KC writes for the website? Well I'm be damned. I oughta start reading his work. * goes to main site to read work legit * Shoot name! Shoot name! Pretty good. Rated "excellent." As for the Dick-Rodez match, I was feeling it. Woo-hoo! Started a trend. The AM Moment. Historically significance: I had planned on retiring from match writing until Eski came to me with the idea of forming a tag team. That team would go on to become Black T. Good storyline driven ME. Like I said earlier, the AM ME has really heated up.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2006 I also thought Drek's promo was pulled off well. It got across what NYU wanted to say while keeping it within the realm of an OAOAST Drek Stone/Zack Malibu feud. We could always use new tag teams, so the newbies' debut was good, with KC tapping into his Inner Patty with all the weird move names. Overall, though it really isn't quite coming across as a "blockbuster" that past AMs were, this year's show should be another solid outing. We've kicked in the hype machine for it over the past few weeks.
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2006 HEY YOUSE GUYS! A VITAMIN X SEGMENT HAS BEEN EDITED INTO THE SHOW~! VITAMIN X~!!! Okay, with that out of the way, here's my feedback: -Good opening segment with Peter Knight and Axel. Josh Matthews saying, "Oh poopie." was great. It reminded me of Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie. -Alfdogg vs. Reject was a pretty good match. It was a little too short though. I would have liked to have seen Alfdogg fight Reject much longer. Anyway, good way to build up Thunderkid vs. Reject in addition to PK vs. Alfdogg. -I think I did more than enough Tha Puerto Rican's 24/7 Title Reign video packages. -Good GPX promo hyping the Two For The Money Match at AngleMania V. I didn't mention this last week (because I didn't do feedback), but I like this match concept. Having the HI-YAH Championship belt hang from the ceiling in addition to a contract for an OAOAST World Title shot was a great idea. Very creative. It's also cool that James Blonde and Faqu are involved in this match, considering that they were simply jobbers a few years ago. They've certainly come a long way, baby. I can't wait to read this match. -So the OAOAST has yet ANOTHER tag team. Hey, it's fine by me. The more, the merrier. I would like if there could be a battle royal one day featuring every single tag team in the OAOAST. I think there would be enough wrestlers in there to fill up two rings! This match served it's purpose: introducing D*LUX to the world. The move names were cute. The Merry Tyler Gore Show is right up there with The Erotic Awakening Of B as the funniest name for a finishing move in the OAOAST. KC, where do you come up with all these move names? I'm liking D*LUX already. The fact that D*LUX can't sing at all is a nice twist to the old "boyband tag team" characters. Hopefully D*LUX won't disappear off the face of the earth like The In Crowd: The Remix. -Uh-oh! Dan Black has been knocked out cold! *DUN DUN DUN* Good to see Hoff and Drek Stone again. -That Chicks Over Dicks segment was sweet. I thought for a second that Patty O' Green had wrote it, but once I saw "Insert flowery Patty style imagery here", I remembered that King Cucaracha wrote it. Having Coach interview COD, and then trash talk to them was cool, as was Krista Isadora Duncan calling out Christian Wright and Bohemoth on their planned sneak attack. Jamie O' Hara has changed his theme song? Awww, I liked "Lose Yourself". But then again, I like "I'm A Hustla" too, so it's all good. Alix talking gangsta to J-OH was hilarious. So many funny lines. "You don't step to Ron." was probably the best one. So was K.I.D.'s analogy about breasts. The brawling was pretty good too. I was pissed when Krista cut Christian off. I wanted to hear more of his ranting. I love his ranting! Christian Wright & Bohemoth vs. Chicks Over Dicks for AngleMania V sounds good to me! -And from comedy we go to drama. I really liked the Logan Mann and Holly-Wood interview. The line about The Heavenly Rockers performing at a Klan rally made me laugh because it was so out of nowhere. I can't believe that Holly actually slept with Ned! The interview was very dramatic, and put over how much Logan, Synth, and Holly HATE The New New Midnight Express. The Loser Leaves Town stipulation adds more drama to the Tag Title Match at AngleMania V. You can believe that this will be the culmination of a long feud. The final battle once and for all. Are the NNMX going to leave the OAOAST forever? -Very very good Drek Stone segment. The segment of the night for me. Drek's promo on Black T was good. His confrontation with Caboose was good. Now, I know that NY Untouchable and Zack Malibu aren't exactly the best of friends outside the OAOAST, so when I read that Drek was going to talk about why he left the OAOAST and who he was having problems with, I thought that Drek was going to go all out and, to quote Tony149, lay a "verbal smackdown" on Zack, bringing up real life situations and completley going out of character. But NYU managed to write a promo that allowed him to vent his real feelings while at the same time keeping in character. I don't know how much of Drek's promo was Drek, and how much of it was NYU if you know what I mean. I really liked this segment, and I'm glad NYU is back in the OAOAST. Thumbs up. -KC, nice job on the WWF Superstars-like squash match with Leon Rodez. I actually would have liked to see Leon used MORE of PRL's moveset. Though using the Five Knuckle Shuffle, Latin Slam, and IntenseZone Elbow were good choices. I can't believe AngleMania only 8 days away! -Damn was that main event fast! Axel and PK are great as a heel team, by the way. Axel is just such a prick, it's great. Again, a good way to build up the PK/Alfdogg and Thunderkid/Reject matches for AngleMania. That tag match next week should be good. -And last but not least, the grand finale of "P.R. Appreciation Night". Patty, the image hosted by tripod is just a picture of Rey Mysterio Jr. without his mask. As a matter of fact, it's the same picture that Papacita uses for PRL in his matchup graphics. I just posted the pic in it's non-PRL version. The way it originally looked. That's pretty much it. Props to KC for writing Leon Rodez's promo. I couldn't come up with anything better than Leon throwing red paint and drawing glasses and a mustache on the PRL poster. Hope you guys liked it. Overall, I liked this show better than last week's. While the matches were all short, the promos and segments were mighty fine. Real fine. I actually think we have a better AngleMania card than last year's, and just as good as AngleMania III's. I like the buildup to all the matches. I'm really looking forward to AngleMania V, which is only 8 days away Jesus Christ has time flown by fast! Thumbs up. Again! King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 As for the Dick-Rodez match, I was feeling it. See, I didn't think people would feel Dick while reading it, because Dick's been neglected for so long around here. Now Parka's gone, I figured it'd be about time to whip him out again, but I still wasn't sure. So it's comforting to know you were feeling Dick while reading my match. Comforting and yet, unnerving. KingPK 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 Personally, I think Dick deserves a little more stroke around here.
Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 Sorry to break up the innuendo jokes for a moment, but I'm once again taking a break until May when I'm out school for the summer and I intend to come back full force. Alf already knows, and I'll be writing my match for Anglemania on my way out. Everyone does such a great job, and I'm just not even close to hanging with you folks, so kudos to everyone for such hard work and hopefully I won't suck so bad next time I'm writing
