Hawk 34 Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 SR. was placed long time ago into the HOF. Who would accept the award for Bruno? I imagine, Bruno has instructed his family to never work with Vince when he dies.
Epic Reine Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 so 1993 they started the HOF, and only introducted Andre?
BorneAgain Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 so 1993 they started the HOF, and only introducted Andre? I'm not even sure there was an official ceremony that year, as much as they announced it on Raw once.
MillenniumMan831 Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 They usually play off on major current events or based off the location of the show. Who fits the bill for Detroit and can be the celebrity inductee? I'm more curious at which 80's low/mid-card/tag teamer gets an out of nowhere spot (Atlas, Volkoff, etc) BARRY HOROWITZ! ...or, not. Why not Barry? He's my favorite jobber! And I agree with theintensifier's comments. Austin should get no recognition. As much of a Horowitz mark I was, Jim Powers doesn't get nearly the amount of recoginition for the depth and breadth of jobs he did from the early 1980s to the early 1990s that he deserves. Other than the minor Young Stallion push of 1987, that poor guy didn't have a hope in hell of scoring a win. Yet he came out every time w/ a cheeseball smile on his face and the overenthusiastic pointing-the-finger pose for the camera at the announcement of his name en route to hitting a couple token dropkicks before putting his head down long enough for the heel to strike, slap on the finisher, and polish poor Powers off.

Epic Reine Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 They don't even have their first champion in their HOF....
MillenniumMan831 Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 You mean Buddy Rogers who was inducted in 94?
landy1987 Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 I'm still waiting for Mr. Fuji to be inducted
Hawk 34 Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 They don't have Backlund either. Backlund, is in the same boat as Bruno. Backlund, I believe was offered in 2004 but he turned it down. I'm going ahead and calling that Terry Funk and Tommy Dreamer (or Sandman) are inducted next year. Funk (and maybe Dory Funk Jr as well) for obvious reasons and Dreamer/Sandman because they will probably want to induct a ECWer into the HOF since they did with AWA this year.

Personally, I kinda feel Taz(z) would make a better Hall of Fame fit for an ECW person. I mean, the guy was their monster...the one guy Lawler, RVD and Sabu (though the last one tried) did even bother TRYING to fight when they invaded the arena. Plus, he's on good terms with the E, hence his announcing gig.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 He's too young and exposed to get in yet. (Taz/z)
Hawk 34 Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 He's too young and exposed to get in yet. (Taz/z) Also, Dreamer, Sandman are more asscociated with ECW then Tazz (simply because Tazz transformed from ECW bad-ass machine to short guy in a suit announcing a match).
Lt. Al Giardello Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 Taz was my favorite ECW character, his style and character was very innovated, and was pretty much the 1st suplex machine. Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, and Bobby Lashley all took aspects of Taz's wrestling style and used them. He's a HOFer IMO, but not yet. WWE really screwed up with his character, they could've made alot of money with him. But choose to job him to Jerry Lawler instead.
Guest NitroJMS Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 How about all these potential candidates? Owen Hart Curt Hennig Davey Boy Smith Brian Pillman Rick Rude Yokozuna Dynamite Kid Honky Tonk Man Demolition Legion of Doom Barry Windham Adrian Adonis Miss Elizabeth Earthquake Granted, WWE won't want to induct an entire deceased class, but they'll have to start working in some of the legends and stars that have passed on or else the classes will start getting very thin.
Perfxion Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 With people like Atlas and Orton in the HOF, they aren't that thin for another 20 years.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 Yeah Orton deverses to be in HOF, he was part of the main event picture for years.
Perfxion Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 Just because he was a bodygaurd(or the like) for Piper, doesn't make him in the main event. Thats like saying Virgil is a HOF guy for being in the main event scene in the late 80s.

Thats like saying Virgil is a HOF guy for being in the main event scene in the late 80s. He played more of a part then Virgil. He actually had character depth, and his arm cast angle played a big role in main events.

Owen Hart - I still don't get how they put eddie in the 1st year but not owen, he freakin died in the ring Curt Hennig - I'd vote the guy in eventually Davey Boy Smith - way overrated but I could see it Brian Pillman - doesn't deserve it Rick Rude - screwed the wwe when he left for wcw Yokozuna - no Dynamite Kid - heard he hates the wwe Honky Tonk Man - he was just asked about this and he said he won't do it Demolition - they were a rip off tag team. would have to wait years after they put LOD in Legion of Doom - waiting for animal to retire first Barry Windham - no. Plus you need to put in Flair, Tully, AA, etc Adrian Adonis - no Miss Elizabeth - wow, to be put into a HOF for neing a mannaquin? Earthquake - c'mon now
Ravenbomb Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 They usually play off on major current events or based off the location of the show. Who fits the bill for Detroit and can be the celebrity inductee? KISS
JimmyHendricks Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 I have a really strange feeling Mike Tyson will be inducted within the next 3 years or so. Steamboat AND Savage should be inducted next year, due to their classic WM III match IN DETROIT. Won't happen, but hey, one can dream. Mr. T. deserves it as well, regardless of any bad heat with Vince. So does Lawrence Taylor. Both of them did pretty well for being "celebrities". Cyndi Lauper? Is Captain Lou Albano in yet? I'm sure Vince has wanted to induct Donald Trump, but I'm sure The Donald just laughed it off. But, overall, one celebrity who should be inducted: BOB FUCKING UECKER. He is easily the best celebrity they ever hired for WrestleMania, or any event. Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I always thought he did a terrific job.
spman Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 According to Jerry Lawler, they're going to try really hard to get Savage in next year. You really can't put Savage in the same boat as Bruno, because there's really no legit heat between Vince and Savage, at least not any that I've ever heard. Savage just has legit heat with Hogan for whatever reason, anad as long as WWE keeps associating themselves with Hogan, Savage wants nothing to do with them. That's not to say a deal couldn't be worked out though, and it's far more likely that we'll see Savage then Sammartino. As for Honky Tonk Man, he blows hot and cold in regards to Vince and the WWE. He'll talk trash about them on his website one minute, but then then say he doesn't have any heat with anyone there the next. I think Honky has gone on record as saying that he's not totally opposed to being in the WWE Hall of Fame, but wants to wait until he decides to retire for good before he'll agree to it.

You just answered my 'Why Savage has heat' question as I was typing it. CURSES!!! I just can't imagine Savage being in the same class as Warrior Warrior.

Guest JRE Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 http://www.wwe.com/superstars/halloffame/ Has a list of all the inductees. Lots of "lesser known" names on there (inducted in the 90s) and I have a feeling that a lot of influential wrestlers from the 60s, 70s and 80s could very well be left out just because they lack name value. There's a lot of catching up to do before people like Stone Cold and Randy Savage should be inducted. Besides, Savage is still too nutty and they should wait until he's older and more humble. That's the case for many of the inductees.
