Guest Crosby_Fan Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 That guy just off the boards was yelling the anthem at the top of his lungs. I thought he was going to pass out.
CanadianChris Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 If they call this goal back, there's going to be a riot at Rexall Place.
CanadianChris Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Good win for the Oilers. Hopefully they've got some of that emotion left for Monday night.
JustJoe2k5 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I think this was more of a bump in the road than a turning point. Carolina took the best Edmonton had and still only lost by one questionable goal. Edmonton's goalie can't stand on his head forever and Carolina won't continue to miss the wide-open chances, I think Carolina still takes the Cup.
Guest Paulster Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 That guy just off the boards was yelling the anthem at the top of his lungs. I thought he was going to pass out. Â That was Joey Moss - the Oiler's towel boy. I love watching him sing the anthem. He's handicapped, but a large part of the Oiler's backstage spirit. Seriously, I can't imagine the Oiler's without him anymore.
the max Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Conversation with my girlfriend after Edmonton's first goal: Â *tv blaring, crowd going apeshit* Me: Man, I wish Samsonov played for the Bruins. Girlfriend: He did remember? MOC traded him for fifty cents on a dollar. Me: *hangs head*
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 What was the crowd saying just now? Â We want ? Â -I know this is anal of me, but CBC's commercial for The National should say "Stanley Cup Playoffs" not "NHL Playoffs".
CanadianChris Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 What was the crowd saying just now? We want ?  -I know this is anal of me, but CBC's commercial for The National should say "Stanley Cup Playoffs" not "NHL Playoffs". So should the title of this thread.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 The Canes arent allowing ANY open shooting lanes. Great D to counter Edmonton's good hustle. Â It's time for Bob Cole to pack it in.
CanadianChris Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Cole needs to be given a choice -- retire or be fired. Â I fear this is the last hockey we'll see in Canada until October.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Wow. This is the first sober game I've seen in Edmonton this series, but they were HARSH on Weight. Â Faceoff in the Canes zone. Big one here, as Edmonton's been pressuring like it was a pp. Â Ryan Smyth is starting to look like a skinny Mick Foley. Has any English Canadian player not listed Gretz as their favourite during these segments?
Fartsauce Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Well I retract my statement several days ago. I give up. It was a hell of a run.
JustJoe2k5 Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Great game, maybe the best of the series. Both teams played great. Edmonton's goalie has been unbelievable these past two games.
CanadianChris Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 3-2 Oil after one period. Â They're just teasing me at this point.
CanadianChris Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 I never thought I'd say this, but I'm preferring NBC's coverage to CBC's coverage right now.
the max Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Doc and JD have been absolutely tremendous for the duration of the playoffs. Doc could pull a Vin Scully and do the game by himself. JD has been on-topic (which is hard for him to do) and informative. Pierre has even been tolerable.
CanadianChris Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Max, you don't honestly think the Bruins are going to shell out for Wade Redden, do you?
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Understandable, CC. Don't like JD, but, hey, he's not Cole/Neale. Â FUCK! Tied at 3. Raleigh is going nuts.
treble Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 I usually watch the NBC coverage over the CBC one if it's available. Probably for something different, I guess.
the max Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Max, you don't honestly think the Bruins are going to shell out for Wade Redden, do you? Â A man can hope, can't he?
Red Baron Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 *Bangs head at desk* Â I get updates from the desk here...no audio, no video, just internet updates
Guest NYankees Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Clank!!! Oilers hit the post. Carolina draws the penalty to go on a powerplay 10 seconds later.
Guest NYankees Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT. Breakaway goal for the Oilers down a man. Short handed goal for the Oilers to win the game in ot to force a game 6.
Zetterberg is God Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Pretty horrific giveaway led to that one. Anyway, game six should be another great game.
Red Baron Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Wow, did the crowd look sad there. I mean like this is game five and they still have at most two more cracks at winning the cup. The crowd seemed like they lost the cup.
KingPK Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 I loved the guy in the white afro wig running down and giving the Oilers the double bird as they celebrated against the glass at the end.
