JN News 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2006 I remember seeing the infamous last scenes of this horror movie, and the one scene that stuck out in my mind was the closing scene after Carrie got killed when her house got burned to the ground, and you can see Carrie's grave had some graffitti on it, and this little girl came in with some flowers for the departed Carrie, and the very minute she laid down those flowers, the hand of Carrie popped out of the ground, and grabbed her arm. The girl woke up screaming like crazy, and when you saw that, you knew that it would be a long time before she ever got any sleep, ever again. But, my question is, what was the whole story plot behind the movie, "Carrie"?
Jingus 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2006 Basically, Carrie was a girl who was born with psychic powers, but never understood or accepted them because of her mom's ultra-strict religious upbringing. She was unpopular in school and constantly tormented. And then on prom night, the other kids Went Too Far and BOOM.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2006 Yeah, pretty much. It was King's story about teenage rebellion, pretty much. Think about it: the mother is a strict cunt, the other kids are complete asses to her (save for maybe one or two), and then...REVENGE. It's a wonder little goth and emo faggots don't run around wearing Carrie shirts. Oh, wait, no it's not, considering the only horror movies they know about are Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2006 He really had a theme like that going, with his stories Rage and Carrie. That fucking hand scene isn't canon btw. It just feels like a rip off of the end of Friday the 13th..
Jingus 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2006 But Carrie came out four or five years before Friday the 13th did. The old "one last fake-out scare at the end of the movie" had been used before that, but it wasn't nearly as much of a cliche as it got to be during the 80's. But, my question is, what was the whole story plot behind the movie, "Carrie"? Carrie is the prototype of the "Teenage Killing Spree Revenge" story. Unpopular kid who gets picked on gets revenge on the bullies who torment her by murdering them all. It's a wonder little goth and emo faggots don't run around wearing Carrie shirts. Oh, wait, no it's not, considering the only horror movies they know about are Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street. The reason why "Carrie" hasn't become a major icon in Emo/Goth culture is because in the 1980s/early 1990s, the Feminist Crowd claimed Carrie as their own poster child as countless feminists made the novel/movie their own and for a time, popularized the notion that "Carrie" was all about menstration/having a period and that Carries powers were a metaphor for being able to get pregnant and some equally raunchy Feminist crap about how people who mock the pain women feel when they have their period deserve to be killed crap.
