naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 I don't get this trade for the Giants. Why are they letting the Steelers take Holmes when the Giants NEED a WR? If all of the WRs are about equal as many seem to believe, why not trade down 7 spots and get 2 extra picks? I'd be more upset that they passed up Justice given our offensive line woes in past seasons. There's not much difference between Jackson, Moss and Stovall. At least one will still be there at 32, and they might still end up with Justice.
teke184 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Expect Joe Addai to go off the board soon if the rumors of Lendale White's drug test are true. Addai will probably end up with the Colts, which is a good fit since Addai can run AND catch.
teke184 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Jacksonville takes Marcedes Lewis, TE, UCLA.
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Well that gives Leftwhich more options to throw at.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Jets go with Nick Mangold. Fills in Mawae's spot.

teke184 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Jets are up and have pick Nick Mangold, C, Ohio State. The Saints better get these motherfuckers on the phone... They have both guys the Saints REALLY need on their line. Colts are now up.
BX 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 The Jets are rebuilding nicely. The Colts have chosen already.
teke184 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 The Colts have made their pick, which is Joseph Addai, RB, LSU. Seahawks are now on the clock.

naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 So the Giants get whichever receiver they had below Holmes, or they can still likely pick Justice. We didn't lose out on anything by dropping down.
Carnival 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Oh god....Bills are REALLY pissing me off. If you're going to trade up...draft someone who WOULDN'T be there in the 3rd round still.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Texans have some serious talent staring them in the face at #33. Shit if they can take Justice I might come close to forgiving them for #1. I don't care how "lazy" he's percieved as the guy can play. Edit: Or trade down a spot or two, pick up another pick, and still get someone like D'Qwell, Leonard Pope, or Eric Winston. teke184 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 For those of you wondering why I'm freaking like this, it's for a few reasons. 1. I'm a long-term LSU fan and it's rare that an LSU back goes in the 1st, especially since the Gerry DiNardo and Nick Saban years since the team tends to stock up on quality backs (Kevin Faulk, Rondell Mealey, LaBrandon Toefield, Justin Vincent, Addai, Cecil Collins, etc.) and then do RB-by-committee. (I think the last LSU back to go in the 1st was Harvey Williams to KC circa 1990 and he made his best impact as a TE in Oakland instead) 2. I have some good friends who are die-hard Colts fans and this is the PERFECT fit to take Edge's spot because Addai is probably the best receiving RB in the draft, in addition to his other qualities. naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 I think the Bills have the two worst selections of the first round, that's impressive no matter how you slice it.

Thinking back on it, it was actually a smart trade. Get Jackson or Moss while getting two extra picks.

teke184 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Seahawks have selected Kelly Jennings, DB, Miami. Miami's streak is still alive, barely. The Giants are on the clock. Anyone else surprised that Jimmy Williams (VT) is likely to drop to the 2nd round?

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 What I find interesting is Lendale White would have easily been a Top 10 pick if he went back to USC. Instead, he's likely heading out of the first round into the "prove yourself or be gone" territory. Kelly Jennings to the Seahawks, I don't agree with the pick with Jimmy Williams still on the board. Not bad, more of an eh pick.
teke184 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Are they chanting "Fuck the Giants"? The Giants take Mathias Kiwanuka, DE, Boston College. Texans are on the board and Winston Justice is still out there.

Anyone else surprised that Jimmy Williams (VT) is likely to drop to the 2nd round? I'm generally anti-LSU until they enter the draft, then I root for the players. Example, Devery Henderson. Nicest guy I ever met next to Horn and Lewis... Seriously them three guys combined are fast, talented, and class acts. It hasn't gone to any of their heads and are very receptive of fans. First round is done, I'm calling Justice @ 34.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Wow, he went way earlier than I thought. I guess he really impressed them. The Texans right now are laughing loudly with all the players that fell to them.
