Guest NYankees Report post Posted May 6, 2006 It's funny that Cliff Floyd is slumping so badly. He was a pretty good Met the past couple of years when he actually did play.
mike546 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 I am completley shocked how good Mike Mussina has been this year. I REALLY thought this was the year he was going to totally fall apart, but hes just been terrific. Like Schilling, with his fastball losing some "umph" hes slowed down all his breaking pitches to make his fastball seem faster than it really is. Hes been our ace. It is still early in the season but Mussina has been great so far. You also have to remember that it is a contract year for him too and from every indication it seems like he wants to retire as a Yankee.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 The stupid Mets just threw away a game they had no business losing. 14 men LOB, 5 blown chances to score runs with a ball hit to the outfield, a leadoff triple in the 8th that goes nowhere, and now Wagner just gave up yet another critical HR. It's the same old Mets when it comes to Atlanta.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted May 6, 2006 If the Yankees have to use Rivera tonight I am going to be pissed.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted May 6, 2006 Unbelievable. Yankees had an 8-1 lead going into the bottom of the 8th and they are going to have to use Rivera because the bullpen fucking stunk and has given up 3 runs and the Rangers have the bases loaded with 2 outs down 8-4.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted May 6, 2006 8-6 now after Blaylock got a 2 run single. The Yankees better not fucking blow Mussina's win tonight.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 Floyd ties the game with a mammoth HR to deep right. Texas is now down 8-7, HOLY SHIT.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted May 6, 2006 YOU GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME. Yankees had a 7 run lead going into the bottom of the 8th.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted May 6, 2006 Mets have the bases loaded with 2 outs in the bottom of the night. Cliff Floyd is batting yet again. Edit Floyd pops up as the game goes to the top of the 13th.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 Cliff Floyd has now left TEN men on base tonight.

Guest NYankees Report post Posted May 6, 2006 The game will never end and the Braves are out of pitchers. Braves are going to have to use starters in the bottom of the 13th. They also said that the Braves are out of posistional players as well. Yankees win. THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 If the Mets don't score here, one of the Jones boys will homer in the 14th, and that'll hold up this time.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 Sosa can't go more than 4 innings so he should get the loss when Floyd hits the game winning HR.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 Praise be to God, this game is over and Floyd didn't have a chance to strand more baserunners.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted May 6, 2006 FUCK. Los Mets win. FUUUUUUCK. Cubs leave the bases loaded against CHAN HO PARK.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 That was some horseshit in Colorado. Lidge's mojo is officially lost (at least for the moment). I hate games that end on a bases loaded walk. Ah well, at least Cincy lost so we're still only a half game behind. And Buchholz pitched really well again. Rookie of the Year right there. And our game started in the fourth inning of the Braves/Mets game. Yeesh.
devo 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 Terrific victory for the Mets. I only saw the 11th-14th innings, so I can only imagine how great a game it really was. Speaking of which, being at the Tides game caused me to miss the first ten innings, but it was worth it because I got to see Lastings Milledge win the game with a home run in the top of the ninth. Just a fantastic night of baseball for me.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted May 6, 2006 So I bumped the tuner on my radio from 720 to 700, and evidently I can pick up Reds games at night all the way from Cincinnati. Must've changed the contour of their signal; I couldn't get 700 when I was trying to pick up distant stations last summer.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 I just home. Someone explain why Freddie Bynum is not only playing in place of Matt Murton, but batting second? Funny how when Zambrano's actually great, he gets no support.

While Lidge did leave a fat one over the plate for Hawpe to crush and walked Marrerro, it was Ensberg's error that opened the floodgates. So it isn't all his fault. Garner shouldn't have gone to him 4 straight nights anyway. But already declaring Buchholz rookie of the year? Let's not get ahead of ourselves. It's only been 33 IP. Guest NYankees Report post Posted May 6, 2006 I noticed Cliff Floyd stranded 10 baserunners all by himself. The mets as a team stranded 20 baserunners. So what do the Mets have now an 8 game lead over the Braves?
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 Yeah, Lidge's been leavin' fat ones over the plate for the better part of the year. It's just easier to blame Lidge than Mo...for throwing the ball away or Garner...for putting Lidge in or Wheeler...for walking Carrol. Seriously, Lidge has just looked like shit. And while Buchholz doesn't have ROTY sewn up already, he's still pitching great, and I don't think it's just because the hitters haven't seen him, as it looks like his stuff is really good and he has a good head for pitching. I'm just glad that all of our rookies have been so good this year, since that was the major question coming in to the season and a problem for alot of last season. And also, I wanna declare Buchholz ROTY right now just because I'm still pissed that Willy Taveras got robbed last year. Ryan Howard? Yeesh...
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 Oh my fucking god. Freddie Bynum drops a routine flyball that was in the air for DAYS, putting runners at first and second in a scoreless game in the ninth. That's two errors and zero hits for the schmuck. And Matt Murton rides the pine. Brilliant.
sfaJack 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 It's no major crime that Taveras didn't win ROTY last season. For a top of the order, speed guy he didn't walk at all, had just about zero pop, and was a trainwreck on defense. Seriously, the guy had about 4 extra base hits after the All Star Break. Were it not for all his little infield bunt singles, he'd have been just about the worst rookie ever. Agreed on Buchholz's stuff though. The kid looks good and if he keeps it up, the Astros win the Wagner trade.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 Yeah, but he did play all year...and he stole a fair amount of bases, even with his problems. Luckily this year, he's looking better as far as defense and getting the ball outta the infield and working the count. And thank God that at least one of the pitchers from the Wags deal looks good. Duckworthless was horrid. The jury's still out on Astacio. He has good and bad moments...mostly bad, but when he's good...
