Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Details are at this site. It has the comics they'll have and at what stores. I always like these, and I'm glad Tokyopop isn't blowing this off, there shouldn't be this huge split between manga fans and American comic fans
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Wow, there are some good ones on there. I would be curious to read what Wizard says is the top 100 TPB's of all time. If anyone gets that let me know about it since I don't have a comic shop anywhere near me.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 I read online that Wizard's Top 100 is the same as last year's edition, just new advertisements in it. It's from Wizard, so lots of Bendis love. #1 was Maus, and #2 was Watchmen.

Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 I found it online... #80 Crisis On Infinite Earths Wow, that is surprisingly low. I would have expected it to be alot higher in the rankings.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 I noticed that too. Maybe they take new reader accessibility into account.
ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 So the first volume of Ultimate Spiderman is BETTER than Batman: Year 1, Marvels, and Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow??? What the fuck were they smoking? How the hell can you justify a collection being better than some of the amazing graphic novels below it. And Kingdom Come being as low as 40 is robbery. I think it's way better than Marvels if we're talking about Ross' work.

LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 Anyone go out and get anything? Some friends and I went out to check it out. I went to this smaller shop first and they let everyone take four titles, so I got: X-men Runaways Batman/Superman Justice League Unlimited Bongo Free For All (the one with Comic Book Guy being pulled by the kids) The second stop allowed one so I got Scott Pilgrim. I don't know if I'll like it, but I didn't know what to get after getting to clean up so much at the first one, and the guy plugging it usually likes good stuff. The third stop there was nothing else I was interested in, so I just took The Batman Strikes, despite everyone and their mother despising The Batman. Of course I felt the need to buy a couple books at each stop, so my paid pickups of the day were: Blue Beetle #1 Blue Beetle #2 Marvel Civil War #1 Cable & Deadpool #26 Cable & Deadpool #

Not that I'm trying to defend Wizard magazine with this list or anything, but I remember they also took in account some other stuff additional to the stories themselves. IIRC, USM vol.1 is actually the hardcover edition that includes issues 1 thru 12 and also has a few extras like art sketches and some other stuff. Also, just my opinion, but no way Kingdom Come is better than Marvels. Art-wise maybe. Story-wise? No fucking way.
