razazteca Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Damn rudo ref. Everytime one of the Itallians take a flop the Americans get a red card.
Mystery Eskimo Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 9 men for 40 minutes...hope the US team is in good shape.
Guest NYankees Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Pope gets a red card on a bullshit call. This ref is so fucking Biased it is not even funny. Two red cards for the United States on late tackles. What is the person supposed to do while tackling? Stop? Fuck this ref, fucking bitch.
Guest NYankees Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 So red carded players get suspended for the next game as well?
Guest NYankees Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Where is the Red Card ref? The player got tripped by 3 Italians.
Insane Bump Machine Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Pope gets a red card on a bullshit call. This ref is so fucking Biased it is not even funny. Two red cards for the United States on late tackles. What is the person supposed to do while tackling? Stop? Fuck this ref, fucking bitch. Of course you can't always stop the tackle once you realize you'll only hit your opponent, but that's why the players are supposed to make sure they hit the ball before they jump in for a sweeping tackle. Flying into the opponent's feet with barely a chance to hit the ball is just stupid, especially if you're already booked like Pope was. The refereeing in this game has been pretty much spot on, the discipline of the US boys has not. Still, the US is plaing surprisingly well and I hope they get a draw. That'll make for an exciting third round.
Insane Bump Machine Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 So red carded players get suspended for the next game as well? if you get suspended for two yellows like Pope was you miss the next game. If you get a red card like the two other players you miss at least the next game but could be suspended for more than that. That's individually decided by a FIFA commission and depends on the harshness of your action. I'd guess that De Rossi will get suspended for at least two games, maybe three. The US player will probably miss two games as well.
Guest NYankees Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Refs screw the U.S. out of a goal. Fuck them.
mike546 Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 WTF? You can't screen the goalie in soccer?!?
naiwf Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 This game is why I can't watch "world class" soccer. You can't screen a goalie or that's offsides? Guys who dive get players tossed. Get the fuck outta here. It's time to get back to watching real sports like baseball and poker.
Dark Age Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 The US have really won me over here. How about that.
Guest NYankees Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 WTF? You can't screen the goalie in soccer?!? I guess soccer likes to keep the scoring low unlike Hockey where alot of the goals are scored because of the goalie being screened.
Dark Age Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 No he was offside guys. He was in an offside position and interfered with play.
Mystery Eskimo Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 This game is why I can't watch "world class" soccer. You can't screen a goalie or that's offsides? You can "screen" a goalie all you want so long as you are onside. It was right to disallow that goal, I think.
Guest NYankees Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 That push should have been a Red Card.
Guest NYankees Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 What a save by the goalie for the United States.
Guest NYankees Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 The feed on Telemundo is 5 seconds faster/ahead.
Guest NYankees Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 United States with some good scoring opportunities.
Mole Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 The feed on Telemundo is 5 seconds faster/ahead. But it isn't in HD.
Slayer Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 The feed on Telemundo is 5 seconds faster/ahead. But it isn't in HD. Thanks, MoleisaLunatic I've always watched the feeds on Spanish television. The American commentary is awful.
Richard Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Well we didn't lose so I guess this was a positive result.
Mole Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 ;-) Soo, if the US wins and the Italians win, they advance?
naiwf Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 That performane was AWESOME!~ The way that ref was flashing the yellow and red left and right for bullshit and then allowed guys to tackle players after he ruined the game by tossing 3 guys is something I'll carry with me for the rest of my life. Never will someone duplicate that man's effort tonight. Never. That should be the match all hopeful referees watch so they can learn how it's done from a pro.
k thx Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 The situation for the third game: If USA fail to beat Ghana, they're out. If they beat Ghana, and Italy beat the Czechs they're through. If The Czechs beat Italy, there needs to be 5 goals difference in the two matches (eg Czechs win 2-0, US win 3-0) If the Czechs and Italy draw, US need to beat Ghana by 4 goals and score at least 7 (I think).
megaadvice Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 USA should be proud of that performance. If it were not for the joke officails they would have won that. The "goal" in the second half should have stood IMO, the player in the offside position didnt touch it. America team never stopped running and in my mind deserved to win.
