Windows Media Player 11

Just downloading it now, already noticed its double the size of WMP10, anyone else using it yet, any thoughts on it?

I like it. Always liked WMP better than Winamp and ESPECIALLY iTunes. Aesthetically pleasing, but I don't see a whole lot more change, really.

WMP over iTunes? Wha? How come?

I use VLC player.

 

It plays everything.

I've got to say, I have a huge music collection and the improved music libary makes things so much easier, I also like that black sheen, presumably thats what Vista will look like, VLC player is good for playing VLC files(youtube and others) but I find it a drag for anything else

I really need to get a legal version of windows so I can use WMP 11.

Tis a shame - WMP 11 only works with SP2 and up, and I refuse to put Service Pack 2 on my computer, so no new WMP for me, I guess.

In any case, I downloaded and installed. I enjoy the design and simplied menus/control buttons. However, the size seems a bit much -- heck, I only use it for movies; for audio, I stick to Slowview.

Yeah, so I downloaded this, and eventually decided I want to stick with 10 for a while. I may go back to 11 eventually, but does anyone know how to downgrade.

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago. You could probably do a system restore and go back to your previous version (assuming you've got Windows XP).

Yeah, I do. I was able to go from 10 down to 9 with no problem when I wanted to, but I can't remember if I was still on 98 or if I had switched to XP.

There's no need for a system restore at all. Just go to Oldversion.com.
