I thought it would be interesting to see who we as posters would vote into the office of president when choosing from a pool of our peers. Let's say that TSM/Pit is a country, and we make up the citizenry. Who do we respect enough to vote for? Should we proceed, here are the rules: I. Nominations A. Eligibility Nominations will be made from the following group of posters: Anybody who has been a poster for a reasonable amount of time, so as to avoid brand new members from joining just for this experiment. To put it in perspective, new members will be considered legal residents only, and thus unable to run for office. Gimmicks accounts are also banned from the election. B. Method Send all nominations for president and vice-president to me, LessonInMachismo, via PM. You will also send your nominations to another person yet to be chosen as an assurance of accuracy and as a deterrent to suspected fraud. You may only nominate one person. Of course, you may consult your nominee beforehand, and strategize on which party you will represent, among other things. I will contact each nominee to see if they are interested in running. II. Primaries A. Debates A thread will be dedicated for each party's debates so that everyone can see what each nominee is all about. B. Voting After a period of time yet to be determined there will be a primary election. For sake of simplicity, it will be an open primary, but you only get one vote, not one for each party. After a period of time yet to be determined, polls will be closed, votes will be counted and we will have our candidates. III. The Campaign Begins A. Parties A number of threads equal to the number of parties will be created and each party will discuss its stances. B. Debates A thread will be dedicated to debates between the candidates. The number of debates has yet to be decided. IV. Election Day Elections will take place on a day yet to be decided. One vote per poster. Popular vote. The votes will be counted and the candidate with the most votes is our president. This is NOT a "whoze the kewlest p0ster?!" tourney. Please keep that in mind.
